it was v fun to see granit & xherdan stick it to serbia & the reaction was predictably ridiculous. lovren was recorded singing some sort of serb-killing volk anthem after the argentina game. all v wearisome and unsurprising

as was mentioned i think in the hype & anticipation thread, lots of brazilians have mixed feelings about supporting the national side in the current climate (hence the natty red shirts free from association with the brazilian football federation) and some are even supporting argentina. it's very difficult to feel bad about neymar losing

The World Cup is a totally fertile field for hating on vile politics and economics, anybody can take their pick tbf. Still have a softer spot for Brazil as a team than these other lads.
