i think that if you start iplayer whilst the stream is running (ie before it ends) then you can rewind to the start and watch it from the buffer. buffer might only be two hours long though. after it ends you have to wait for the, yes, long transcode. it's complicated.

I was watching on iPlayer about 90 mins behind. Computer crashed at one point and was then told the game would be "available soon".

Then choosing to watching BBC1 live though (EastEnders) was able to rewind back to the football xps

I think that's true but I think the same is true of the Pep Barcelona side - a system implemented to an absurd perfection.

Stopping the other team scoring seems to be more of a problem for Spain at the moment.

I think it is. Uruguay know how to get a job done. Russia are pretty much done for the WC.
