what did coach nick have to say about bagley?
― Heez, Monday, 18 June 2018 15:55 (five years ago) link
he said he was great in the pnr tho duke didnt use him that way much, is a natural bucket getter but will struggle attacking facing/posting up in the pros if he doesnt improve his footwork, was kinda suspicious of his 3pt shooting even tho he shot 40% in college cause all his hits were on very wide open shots just toeing the 3pt line, said he had some defensive potential but is pob not a rim protector, is obvs a sick finisher on the break
― sprout god (lag∞n), Monday, 18 June 2018 16:55 (five years ago) link
sounded like more of a 4-7 type prospect to me than someone who shd be in the mix for #1
― sprout god (lag∞n), Monday, 18 June 2018 17:10 (five years ago) link
yeah it doesn't seem like he brings much to the table other than sick athleticism and some ok iso moves.
― call all destroyer, Monday, 18 June 2018 17:15 (five years ago) link
Yes. Players with sick athleticism never improve their skills after age 19.

i think hes got good basketball sense, and hes very attacky which is good, but yeah like with the draft in general its all about forecasting whether the guy will put in the work

found some info on sign n trades
The Celtics could use restricted free agent Marcus Smart in a trade if the guard agreed to a three-year contract for around $36 million; the contract would have to be a minimum of three years based on the rules for a sign-and-trade deal. Combined with Smart's salary (which would count just $6 million for trade matching purposes because of the base-year compensation rule), Brown, Morris and Yabusele, the finances would work for Leonard. In fact, that trade works (by $11,426) even if Leonard does not waive his 15 percent trade kicker that would add $3 million to his $20 million salary for next year.

Been lots of talk (understandably) about ESPN not breaking draft pick information ahead of time during this year’s NBA Draft, but it isn't going to be the only league broadcast partner to be withholding from breaking picks. Yahoo, Turner, etc. have agreed to do the same.— Tim Bontemps (@TimBontemps) June 20, 2018

Luka Doncic has moved to forefront of Atlanta's internal conversation on the third overall pick in Thursday's NBA Draft, league sources tell ESPN. Michigan State's Jaren Jackson and Duke's Marvin Bagley (if Kings pass on Bagley at No. 2) remain in contention for No. 3.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) June 20, 2018

just watched some shai gilgeous-alexander video and was pleasantly surprised, he's an interesting prospect. def looks like he'll be a playable point guard earlier than sexton because he can actually pass.

the shelburne/woj article was basically like "yeah no for real he only wants to go to LA" and im like ://////////// we're really gonna get tobias harris and some late lottery picks arent we fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 04:04 (five years ago) link
how has tobias harris been traded so many times already, he's not even bad
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 04:06 (five years ago) link
i guess he's in that narrow hot potato zone where he's good enough to get paid but not good enough to pay
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 04:07 (five years ago) link
so im gonna guess that by playing hardball and saying "LA only", spurs recognize they have LESS incentive to trade him right away bc lakers and clippers current assets arent good enough for the spurs to jump right away. then the spurs think they have time to do some mending of fences because at this point a 10% chance of kashi getting over it is better than what lakers and clippers have to offer.

Charlotte is finalizing a deal to send Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets for Timofey Mozgov, league sources tell ESPN. Nets will save 7M on deal in 2019-20 season, allowing them to create two max salary slots.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) June 20, 2018

― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 13:32 (five years ago) link
Unless I'm missing something, Charlotte took on an extra year of Moz salary (19-20) and two seconds to maybe make sure they duck the tax in 18-19? (Nets have a bunch of extra 2nds). Absolutely brutal. Great deal for the Nets. https://t.co/anvtsRGR8F— Zach Lowe (@ZachLowe_NBA) June 20, 2018

what's his defense like
― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 14:41 (five years ago) link
It’s been team dependent. He was fine on the Pistons and better on the Clippers. He’d be good on the Spurs. Dude is VERY Spursy. But obviously not Kawhi. :/
― Allen (etaeoe), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 14:46 (five years ago) link
It’s funny how perfect Kawhi is for the current (or even past) Spurs systems. He’s so dumb.
― Allen (etaeoe), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 14:47 (five years ago) link
*sigh* yeah...
at this point, if the spurs can be competitive while they develop young talent, im cool. kawhi is special tho. not often you find a guy like that at #15.
harris would immediately become the spurs 2nd best player if he got traded here tho.

― omar little, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 16:07 (five years ago) link
i mean in each time he's been traded he's been or become the best player in the deal. i think because he's not a guy you build a team around but is v productive he's a popular trade piece.
