awful album

she clearly has a really strong visual eye... the music nudges a little close to a wave of music i always feel like i should like but doesn't really move me at all... tyler the creator, dram...there's also an element of theatre/camp that doesn't really work for me... some of the r&b stuff is p good tho

anyway she picked a great gimmick... tho i think you could also view it in a negative light

I wanted to like this, but became frustrated with the way every song ended as soon as I started to become interested. I also found the theatre-kid aspects to many of the videos somewhat off-putting. But she clearly has plenty of ideas and talent so I will check out whatever she does next.

there's a fun unpacking of the use of 'theater kid' in the context of rap to be had

I can't imagine listening to this without watching the video at the same time but the wealth of potential here is captivating

when you catch it on shuffle this really makes you miss the album even though the song that just ended still ended this way and you would still feel that frustration if there were another one

I hope she never makes a song longer than 45 seconds, and she makes many albums, and her concerts in ten years are 40 minutes long

Pairs really well with the Tirzah, as the... wackier version. This is a really good concept, full of ideas and humor, and the artistic visuals are A+. Works rather like an EP to me.

i kinda assumed that this was a stunt for the eventual release of the full-length version of same but I guess the window for that to happen is kinda closing? in any case, this is a lovely way to introduce yourself to the world and i woulda likely voted for hungry hippo.

I haven’t been able to spend much time with it yet but it sounds like she is BACK. Her vibe in full force, spare and clicky tracks, sweet melodies, drill bars, floating monologues. I love it. I love her.
