i have one friend who is a perennial ezra pusher so ive heard three or four of his albums once , i usually find the ratio of cute production ideas to hooks low but this one gets it right, if a little long. blown out revved up glam mode is my fav

gave the prior album a go and lasted about two minutes, that voice is utterly horrendeous

"ratio of cute production ideas to hooks low"
sort of how I feel about it. I love the vibe and the sound, especially the drums. It hit me the first few times I played it, and I really wanted to get into it. (starved for new favorites)I still play it, but rarely make it half way through now.

Still thinking this is one of the best albums of the year. It’s like Modern Vampires of the City performed as The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Also the #gaycontent is very enjoyable.

I only recently heard "Body Was Made" and really loved it. How can I not appreciate a ripoff made with such care, such dedication.

I really like "Suck the blood from my wound". Which sounds like what people do when they want to go Springsteen (which ends up resulting nothing at all like Springsteen). It's usually a dry place, but this one sounds well thought, fresh, smart; very original in its derivativeness.

Wow, this album is really, really great. I got to it through a negative review of Kyle Craft, so i listened with on a defensive, prejudiced mode. But man, this is great stuff. Voice can be a weak link, as said above; in fact, it tricked me into believing it was going to be some sloppy glam thing like Mac De Marco. But it's really nothing like that; the singing reminds me of Dan Boeckner.
I can see the connections with Vampire Weekend, though it sounds like a sparser "Born to Run" to me. It's been some time since I heard springsteenisms put to such good use.

I dunno, this album is fun but I miss the ambition of Transangelic Exodus.

Mmm actually I was referring to Transangelic.
I haven't got to Twelve Nudes yet!

I get "I Killed Myself But I Didn't Die" off the Harpoons album stuck in my head constantly.
Kinda sucks that Ezra's original songs have to fight for space on Sex Education against those very expensive needle drops.
