Melody's Echo Chamber - Bon Voyage (2017)

Her new album is a masterpiece! I can't even get my head around it right now, I just know I can't wait to play this obsessively over the next few days. So much to take in even though it's only 34 minutes long.

Yeah, it's on there. All four of the singles made it and it's only seven songs long. That's my only disappointment with the album.

Out today. Gotta admit some of the lyrics are troubling to me, not sure if she recorded this during and after the injury but the “so much blood on my hands” lyric is disturbing.

I checked this out due to it being Dungen-adjacent and I'm digging it a lot! Any Jane Weaver fans out there should give it a whack.

It's going to take a few listens to completely get my head around this record, but it feels… for want of a better word… important.

weird -- some of "Desert Horse" reminds me of Blonde Redhead's "Equus" (which was about singer Kazu's very serious accident involving a horse)

She said she'd not written anything since her illness so it must pre-date it

Yeah, I think the album was completed a year ago and ready to release before the accident.

Calstars is a tough customer tho quands tbf is the best track.

Few thoughts: cross my heart revisions improve that track from its initial release. Longer outro. Shirim sounds better too. Visions of someone special appears to be partly a cover and an original, which is cool.

I love this album. Would kill for a full collab / tour with Dungen.

First half is excellent though loses some steam by the end. I love her singing in French.

Beautiful album. She's so underrated.

The homage/tip of the hat to Gainsbourg and Vannier's " L'hotel particulier" on "the Hypnotist" is lush.
