Huggy Bear always makes me feel cool because it holds up in every way imaginable
And sad because not a lot of current bands followed their lead

I wonder if there's a difference between feeling cool and cool experiences?

Anyway, Tindersticks were my first thought (even though if you listen closely to the lyrics, Staples is often not *cool*).

Certainly, around the second album they had an influence on what I thought was cool.

Return of the Mack will never be uncool. I went to youtube and searched for “return of the mack dance” and it proved my point; dance classes with middle-aged, overweight women, drunk white girls, a quinceañera party, dadbod dork alone in his room dancing to this song all looked cool doing it.

I was relistening to the classic three early albums by Siouxsie and the Banshees (Kaleidoscope - Juju - Kiss in the Dreamhouse), I think it's a very cool brand of post-punk/gothic. I don't really know which song to highlight though.
