given the devaluing of centers, esp. those that can't be two-way players, i find all the big guys at the top of this draft a little anxiety-inducing

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 16 May 2018 01:30 (five years ago) link

yeah, unless they can shoot 3s and switch on screens which makes them immediately draymond

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 01:32 (five years ago) link

dray..... cant shoot 3s

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 01:41 (five years ago) link

20-12 is an insane line for college ball which is what ayton put up btw

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 01:46 (five years ago) link

i mean he literally does shoot 3s tho not well

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 01:47 (five years ago) link

xp but he's one of the ones who can't play defense right?

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 16 May 2018 01:47 (five years ago) link

ayton shot 34% from college three he cn prob achieve dray levels of marksmanship

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 01:48 (five years ago) link

ayton shd be able to play D hes huge athletic w good feet, i mean maybe hell never figure it out but hes got the tools

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 01:49 (five years ago) link

but can he achieve dray levels of...*searches word book*
murksmanship?
barksmanship?

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 01:49 (five years ago) link

tall order for sure

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 01:50 (five years ago) link

ayton has pretty good form for a center, i could def see him becoming a good 3 pt shooter for a center. but he's not gonna ever be great from out there & the question for me is whether you can win a title in the current NBA with playing thru a big man in the post

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:10 (five years ago) link

man what about the famous play the pick n roll

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:12 (five years ago) link

of greater concern is being able to guard the perimeter imo

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:13 (five years ago) link

lebrons been a bit off is he actually concussed?

ciderpress, Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:16 (five years ago) link

he looked foggy after he took the hit in my professional opinion

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:19 (five years ago) link

also another thing with ayton is that it doesn't seem like he'll ever be a playmaker. i think it's also hard to have a high usage big nowadays who can't pass. the thing w/ draymond is less that he's a shooting threat (teams haven't guarded him for a while) but that he's an incredible passer on the move

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:19 (five years ago) link

oh oops wrong thred lol

ciderpress, Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:19 (five years ago) link

idk its possible to learn how to pass, its the last skill a lot of very good players develop

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:23 (five years ago) link

idk i'm dubious. ayton is a complete animal and i'll think he'll be pretty great but i wouldn't take him #1 and i think bamba could be better.

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:25 (five years ago) link

bamba is reaaally raw in all the areas youre concerned abt ayton tho

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:26 (five years ago) link

bamba feels like he was maybe made for an nba of a couple innovation cycles ago, when tyson chandlers roamed

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:27 (five years ago) link

its funny how good marcus smart is at running the pick and roll when u dont really have to guard him

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:28 (five years ago) link

mavs are gonna draft bamba and pretend it's 2009

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:28 (five years ago) link

offensively maybe but defensively he looks like could be the ideal pace and space big

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:29 (five years ago) link

i think ayton could be KAT-ish in being elite on offense pretty early but still lost and bad on defense 3 years in

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:31 (five years ago) link

lol bron started complaining abt a foul call while he was still grabbing onto monroes arm

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:34 (five years ago) link

oops

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 02:34 (five years ago) link

yeah. take it to the thread where dreams go to die.

A is for (Aimless), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 03:21 (five years ago) link

let's talk about bron, baby

where is lebron james playing basketball in 2019?

So an exact copy of KAT then

gritty tigger reboot (agent hibachi), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 15:27 (five years ago) link

ayton is more physically impressive than KAT fwiw

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 15:59 (five years ago) link

kat weirdly has a bunch of unathletic traits duck footed bad posture does not have a thick jacked frame

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 16:01 (five years ago) link

same tbh

yeah that's what i mean

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 16 May 2018 16:27 (five years ago) link

ayton is a physical specimen it's true but his defense at arizona was pretty alarming

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 16 May 2018 16:27 (five years ago) link

yeah but sometimes guys just dont do some things good in college and it turns out to not be a big deal, but then sometimes it is a big deal

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 16:28 (five years ago) link

college basketball is weird and bad and the coaching is bad

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 16:29 (five years ago) link

Anybody know much about Bagley? Looks like the Hawks are p high on him

Heez, Wednesday, 16 May 2018 16:41 (five years ago) link

super active has a good scoring knack/general basketball awareness but maybe be lacking in some necessary nba fundamentals unclear which position(s) he can defend

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 16:43 (five years ago) link

Hmm. Not sure how he’s gonna fit with Collins. The Jackson Jr kid could be a defensive stud, but he’s more of a gamble

Heez, Wednesday, 16 May 2018 16:48 (five years ago) link

feel like hes one of those guys who cld get to the nba and just set it off cause hes a natural baller and everyone will be oh of course, but he cld also be one of those guys who has a lot of talent but never quite clicks idk

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 16:50 (five years ago) link

def cld be a weird fit next to collins

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 16:50 (five years ago) link

bagley might still be growing

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 16:53 (five years ago) link

haa

• The Kings made that jump only because they lost a "coin flip" (actually a separate drawing) in April with the Bulls. Had that coin flip gone the other way, Chicago owns the four-number combination in question and is picking No. 2. Atlanta similarly won Tuesday night by losing a coin flip with Dallas, which fell to No. 5.

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 21:20 (five years ago) link

yeah i had no idea they flipped for number combos!

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 16 May 2018 21:21 (five years ago) link

its all about the combos baby!

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 16 May 2018 21:23 (five years ago) link

what the christ

If the machine in which the balls bounce breaks down, the NBA has a contingency: dump all 14 balls into a basketball with a hole cut out of the top. A league official closes that hole, shakes the basketball, opens it up, and picks out the balls.

omar little, Wednesday, 16 May 2018 21:24 (five years ago) link

they shd just do it that way
