I’m torn btwn Jackson Jr, Aytom and Bagley. Honestly didn’t watch much college ball this year

nba execs love to say 'you can't teach size', but the most effective bigs have an obvious feel for the game that I haven't seen in Ayton, yet. he's not a stiff and has decent athleticism, so he'll def belong in the nba, but I just can't see him as a legit #1 pick. Top ten easily, but best of class? not unless I squint hard. Bagley seems more legit to me.

given the devaluing of centers, esp. those that can't be two-way players, i find all the big guys at the top of this draft a little anxiety-inducing

ayton has pretty good form for a center, i could def see him becoming a good 3 pt shooter for a center. but he's not gonna ever be great from out there & the question for me is whether you can win a title in the current NBA with playing thru a big man in the post

also another thing with ayton is that it doesn't seem like he'll ever be a playmaker. i think it's also hard to have a high usage big nowadays who can't pass. the thing w/ draymond is less that he's a shooting threat (teams haven't guarded him for a while) but that he's an incredible passer on the move

idk its possible to learn how to pass, its the last skill a lot of very good players develop

idk i'm dubious. ayton is a complete animal and i'll think he'll be pretty great but i wouldn't take him #1 and i think bamba could be better.

bamba is reaaally raw in all the areas youre concerned abt ayton tho

bamba feels like he was maybe made for an nba of a couple innovation cycles ago, when tyson chandlers roamed

ayton is a physical specimen it's true but his defense at arizona was pretty alarming

yeah but sometimes guys just dont do some things good in college and it turns out to not be a big deal, but then sometimes it is a big deal

college basketball is weird and bad and the coaching is bad

super active has a good scoring knack/general basketball awareness but maybe be lacking in some necessary nba fundamentals unclear which position(s) he can defend
