My best “serious” answer would probably be “Out in the Streets,” which I heard fleetingly in a film, and led me into a serious and sustained girl-group phase.

Wading Thru a Ventilator by The Soft Boys, via my great old friend Dave, who turned me onto SO MUCH GREAT STUFF!! I subsequently gave up on any music that was Metal or left over from my high school era tastes, and pursued V.U.,Pere Ubu,Modern Lovers,The Fall, Wire, etc, etc. And while i've since allowed myself to once again enjoy those old Metal rekkids (i mean, i would really miss Black Sabbath.)my heart (and mind) are mostly with those strange and amazing post-punk gems, that I listened to in Dave's room of records (and weed)all those years ago.
