yowza i missed a bunch

kinda surprised vespertine almost caught homogenic! esp considering everyone assumed a homo-post-debut finish? or at least someone did in the other thread and i just assumed they'd be right because it was the first prediction i read?

i was out on sugarcubes and i didn't think the remixes thru too well but i am looking fwd to listening to both of those lists!

v excited for these music videos, idk if there is an artist with more good vids than bjork, gonna say no

I just watched the Greatest Hits DVD for the first time last night and the "It's Oh So Quiet" video looks like washed-out shit and was almost definitely transferred from a VHS tape. But all the other videos look p good so far and I am p sure the rip on the Spike Jonze Director's Label DVD looks great so idk what gives

Ahh... looking at this video as a teenager to see artful breasts... souvenirs souvenirs.
Tomorrow there will be many posts so I just wanna say in advance that when the Venus as a Boy video gets posted, the people who have read the graphic deviant sex-shitfest Story of the Eye (Lord Auch) can look at this innocent kitchen and those eggs in a totally new way. I don't know who made that connection though.

I"m going to be so mad if the "Violently Happy" video places

the masseduction of lauryn hill (Stevie D(eux)), Monday, 7 May 2018 18:38 (five years ago) link

the last 7 HAVE to be "Human Behavior", "Army of Me", "Big Time Sensuality", "All is Full Of Love", "Bachelorette", and "Who Is It", and "Triumph of a Heart", right????

the masseduction of lauryn hill (Stevie D(eux)), Monday, 7 May 2018 18:40 (five years ago) link

Like, "Cut to the Feeling" LSFYL mad?

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Monday, 7 May 2018 18:41 (five years ago) link

xp I think Wanderlust and Pagan Poetry are two of her greatest videos, and am curious as to which ones people liked better

Dan S, Monday, 7 May 2018 18:42 (five years ago) link

xp no I could never be that mad at anything ever again

the masseduction of lauryn hill (Stevie D(eux)), Monday, 7 May 2018 18:46 (five years ago) link

Pagan Poetry was my number 1, just astonishing as a performance and as a piece of visual art

I mean, not for nothing was it projected four-stories-tall at MOMA.

love the dgaf style of acting/dancing on the truck with people agape in the streets, released as the video to her first single!

Dan S, Monday, 7 May 2018 19:04 (five years ago) link

This video is so near and dear to my heart and fills me w such joy

the masseduction of lauryn hill (Stevie D(eux)), Monday, 7 May 2018 19:10 (five years ago) link

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Monday, 7 May 2018 19:29 (five years ago) link

Honestly, I can only think of one Bjork video that does nothing in the slightest for me and that's "Play Dead," obvs.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Monday, 7 May 2018 19:30 (five years ago) link

xp the extreme wide angle (fish eye?) filming lens in Big Time Sensuality really contributes to feeling of joyful exhibitionism, too

Dan S, Monday, 7 May 2018 19:32 (five years ago) link

big time sensuality video is iconic come on

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 19:36 (five years ago) link

thrilled the underworld mix won

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 19:37 (five years ago) link

I had never seen "Army of Me" before last night and was blown away, it def would have been in my top 3 if I'd voted

the masseduction of lauryn hill (Stevie D(eux)), Monday, 7 May 2018 19:41 (five years ago) link

it’s such a powerful and bizarre video

“hyberballad” is a visual perfectly suited toward its song, my favorite thing is the way the camera sways in time to the low bass riff and also hologram björk and also 8-bit avatar björk

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:05 (five years ago) link

it also makes me cry for some reason

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:05 (five years ago) link

never felt any kind of way about this video even though the bell dress rules

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:21 (five years ago) link

the only Bjork videos I have a hard time watching are Hidden Place and Vertebrae by Vertebrae, both are disturbing to me

Dan S, Monday, 7 May 2018 20:21 (five years ago) link

(although beautiful at the same time)

Dan S, Monday, 7 May 2018 20:22 (five years ago) link

“where is the line” has a deeply fucked up video

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:24 (five years ago) link

oh, never saw that one!

Dan S, Monday, 7 May 2018 20:25 (five years ago) link

idk you may want to keep it that way

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:26 (five years ago) link

“mouth mantra” video also basically unwatchable for me

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:26 (five years ago) link

the Human Behavior video filled my kid with such delight, and me once again, seeing it for the first time in twenty years.

omar little, Monday, 7 May 2018 20:30 (five years ago) link

"Vertebrae by Vertebrae" doesn't have an official video, does it?

ˈʌglɪɪst preɪ, Monday, 7 May 2018 20:31 (five years ago) link

No, that and "Virus" are taken from a video art installation piece.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:32 (five years ago) link

Oh, you mean the ones on YouTube? They are both fan edits of Andy Thomas Huang's "Solipsist". Bjork saw the original video and asked Huang to collaborate on "Mutual Core".
