Good luck Fizdale!

Knicks’ head coaches since 2005-06:

Larry Brown: 23-59 (.280)
Isiah Thomas: 56-108 (.341)
Mike D’Antoni: 121-167 (.420)
Mike Woodson: 109-79 (.580)
Derek Fisher: 40-96 (.294)
Kurt Rambis: 9-19 (.321)
Jeff Hornacek: 60-104 (.366)

Now, David Fizdale takes over

feels like hornacek just started, i wouldnt have guessed he made it 2 full seasons

ciderpress, Thursday, 3 May 2018 22:15 (five years ago) link

hornacek going from the suns to the knicks was some kind of bad karma. poor guy.

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Thursday, 3 May 2018 22:19 (five years ago) link

its not like he had to

ciderpress, Thursday, 3 May 2018 22:35 (five years ago) link

fizdale must have really thought he wasn’t getting another job

J0rdan S., Friday, 4 May 2018 00:57 (five years ago) link

the suns offered him a 4 year, turned it down for the knicks

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Friday, 4 May 2018 01:04 (five years ago) link

suns job might be worse than the knicks actually

J0rdan S., Friday, 4 May 2018 01:18 (five years ago) link

knicks definitely pay more than suns

call all destroyer, Friday, 4 May 2018 01:21 (five years ago) link

suns job is def worse

ciderpress, Friday, 4 May 2018 01:25 (five years ago) link

i remember hearing about that a few years back but it brought tears reading the details. Just brutal. Amazing he's been able to get his life together and be such a role model.

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Saturday, 5 May 2018 20:16 (five years ago) link

Yeah really happy things worked out for him and really impressed by how the players tribune is helping to shed light on mental health issues.

tsrobodo, Saturday, 5 May 2018 22:42 (five years ago) link

good to know

Report: Knicks prepared to open cap space if LeBron James wants to play for David Fizdale https://t.co/wr52gVzxHJ

(thought bubble over LeBron's head)

... if only I could play for David Fizdale!

A is for (Aimless), Sunday, 6 May 2018 17:39 (five years ago) link

lebron james the famous coach adorer

lag∞n, Sunday, 6 May 2018 17:40 (five years ago) link

wow that did not work out great

Source: Stan Van Gundy and the Pistons have parted ways.

sprout god (lag∞n), Monday, 7 May 2018 17:18 (five years ago) link

ha yeah

Van Gundy met with Pistons officials within the hour and now team moves onto a search for a new President of Basketball Operations and coach. Those jobs will be separated now.

sprout god (lag∞n), Monday, 7 May 2018 17:20 (five years ago) link

too bad grizzdale got swept up by the lol knicks; he might've been a solid fit for detroit

Canned Van Gundy left behind a massive pile of poo for the next group to clean up.

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Monday, 7 May 2018 18:25 (five years ago) link

still havent processed that blake griffin is on that team

ciderpress, Monday, 7 May 2018 21:34 (five years ago) link

neither has he

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Monday, 7 May 2018 21:43 (five years ago) link

that roster is really jacked beyond all belief

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 May 2018 21:45 (five years ago) link

luke kennard 1 pick before donovan mitchell might go down as one of the all time worst draft decisions

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 May 2018 21:46 (five years ago) link

yea def

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Monday, 7 May 2018 21:53 (five years ago) link

Oden before Durant worse.

Jeff, Monday, 7 May 2018 22:45 (five years ago) link

It won’t be in the top 500 worst draft decisions

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 7 May 2018 23:32 (five years ago) link

kennard showed a little life the last 1/4 of the season

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Monday, 7 May 2018 23:44 (five years ago) link

the thing is that it was bad and made no sense on draft night as it was happening in real time

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 May 2018 01:13 (five years ago) link

the raptors essentially traded demarre carroll, cory joseph and a first round pick to get CJ miles. miles is pretty good on offense but he’s getting roasted on defense all series and hasn’t seemed to make the raptors any better in this specific match up

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 May 2018 01:26 (five years ago) link

whoops wrong thred

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 May 2018 01:27 (five years ago) link

Bad draft decisions are as common as dirt.

A is for (Aimless), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 03:05 (five years ago) link

Yah Flynn over Curry is the gold standard

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 03:06 (five years ago) link

ahem, flynn AND rubio over curry

sprout god (lag∞n), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 03:12 (five years ago) link

Right but at least Rubio is a useful starter in the league.

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 03:16 (five years ago) link

incredible to take two point guards and neither of them were curry

sprout god (lag∞n), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 03:18 (five years ago) link

flynn & rubio over curry is one of the worst of all time easily! i did not say kennard over mitchell would be *the* worst!

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 May 2018 03:30 (five years ago) link

oh, for chrissake. doesn't ANYONE here know that Sam Bowie was picked at number one, before Michael Jordan at number two? poor Sam B. was a center who, like a lot of very big men, turned out to have knee problems that drove him out of the league after a few years. kinda like... Greg Oden over Durant. By the Blazers. Again.

A is for (Aimless), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 03:36 (five years ago) link

ahem, sam bowie was picked second and jordan third

sprout god (lag∞n), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 03:37 (five years ago) link

Manu was the 60th pick every team failed themselves

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 03:40 (five years ago) link

ah, yes. thank you. Olajuwan was the number one pick which the blazers lost on a coin toss, so they went went for the 'consolation prize' center. pays me right for not hitting up Wikipedia and relying on my old man memory.

A is for (Aimless), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 03:41 (five years ago) link

Barkley just argued for Isiah to take over the Pistons. Come on man

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 03:56 (five years ago) link

some ppl just want to see the world burn

sprout god (lag∞n), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 03:57 (five years ago) link

barkley has not really followed basketball in like 15 years

21st savagery fox (m bison), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 04:11 (five years ago) link

pinpointing a particular pick as ‘bad’ or even ‘good’ is silly 99% of the time

k3vin k., Tuesday, 8 May 2018 12:47 (five years ago) link

except when that pick was obviously bad at the time
