back upthread, but man every time I see the Left willfully cannibalizing itself to talk about "going high", I can't fathom how stupid they are to realize they're playing into what the GOP wants. I mean, had Wolf actually said heinously offensive fat/appearance-shaming shit we should rightfully criticize her for it regardless of who the intended target is, but Christ.

I hate virtue signaling as a term but some of the Lefties on my FB wall almost, almost, almost make me understand why the term is used (but I still hate it so fuck that).

The sad thing is that I'd argue that the majority of people in the general public making those complaints are just parroting responses from the DC media elite rather than, y'know, forming an opinion of their own.

the fact that there's even debate about whether these jokes told during a friggin roast were even about SHS's looks shows how relatively milquetoast they were. and obv it's one thing for people on the Left to debate it and decided if they were "over the line" and another for the party whose leader said much more direct and mean things about women's appearance (without even being clever enough to do it in joke form!)

Yeah, who cares. Let's talk more about John Kelly, or the ICE guy, or Trump, the perpetual implied punchline to every joke.

I would find it offensive if Sanders actually were a lesbian. I don't really see it as inherently homophobic to compare a woman to a gym teacher otherwise.

I know I've said it before, but although a Democratic House might move ahead with articles of impeachment in 2019 over perjury and obstruction charges, the Senate Republicans wouldn't vote to convict in sufficient numbers to remove Trump unless there's evidence of much worse crimes added to perjury and obstruction. Also, an impeachment inquiry would suck all the air out of the Congress and D.C., so that nothing else would get done.

I suspect we're all stuck with this goon for the full term of office, even if the foundations of the nation crumble around his feet.
