Ooh, hadn't heard the "Blue Moon" or "Program" covers. These blur a bunch with the Glass Candy covers ("Miss Broadway", "Rise", "Iko Iko", etc), but think I'll vote for the Dark Day.

unsurprisingly I voted for the "Running Up That Hill" cover -- there's a barrenness to it that works well (n.b. I also like the Placebo cover)

voted for "ceremony" because on paper it's a terrible idea (IMO) but they really pull it off
love how they are unafraid to tackle the iconic songs and "chromaticize" them - somehow it reminds me a little of, say, 60s bossa nova bands covering Beatles songs - i guess because it doesn't feel like they are looking to discover any new emotional truth in the song, it's just that they're cool and popular tunes
i have always thought that i would like to hear them do a Cure song but I am not sure which one - possibly Disintegration!

Ceremony vote here as well. Song is smooth

I listen to this band and some of these covers at work quite regularly. Soothing, I guess.

objectively that Dark Day cover is pretty impressive.

i guess i would rather hear the kate bush cover tho it can't really touch the original, whereas the neil young cover seems better because coming from them, it was enough to add an extra layer of interest to hearing the original, which already has plenty of layers

I heard their "Into the Black" playing in the corridors of Mall of America last night, had to linger outside the bubble tea place for a minute to make sure I wasn't imagining it. I'm convinced that song can lend significance to any space.

otm
their cover nails the burn out vibe better than neil young i'd say, it sounds like they're far gone
