my new bestest friend Dougal has ran amok this morning and tired himself out trying to chew everything in reach. He's arrived two days early because the breeder had to be in another country or something. Buzzing!

What an adorable VGB! That was fast! Only my mum sends in for canine reinforcements quicker than this.

I thought if I mulled over it for some time I'd just come to the same conclusion that a new VGB is what is needed in my life, and the absence of one in my house wasn't something I could adjust to at all.

My mum took only three days to get a new VGB on the basis that she kept seeing a poodle in the corner of her eye and determined she’d go doolally unless she put one there.

I was having similar auditory type hallucinations, kept thinking I could hear him trotting up the stairs or sometimes getting the false sense that he is following me around the house.

My mum is generally OTM in all areas apart from politics.

My nine year old pug had started being aggressive with me at the weirdest times and it’s really hard. I have no idea why it’s happening or what to do. It’s breaking my heart.

tough work is house-training this lad, but I think we are going to make it! Sorry not trying to milk cute puppydom to the point of nausea, but just announcing he is now called Douglas because somebody I like a lot told me he looked more like a Douglas than a Dougal, and it made perfect sense at the time and now that is the name on his chip.

when I took him for his first stage inoculation today. On the bus I carried him in an open sports bag which he pissed in and all over me. And such is his charms, despite me reeking of his piss there were lots of people fawning over him in the reception, and not saying: oi, you stink of dog piss!

Douglas had a very rough week. Two days of explosive diarrhea, vomiting, severe dehydration and then major surgery to have a sock removed from his small intestine. I was in tears on tuesday night, seriously thought he was fading away. My local private vets were fucking shit and actually ruled out a blockage on monday, maybe just trying to monetize his agony and charge me for another consultation rather than gaf about his life. Anyway Bradford PDSA delivered and I've donated £150 to them for being so fucking awesome and saving his life.

apparently Labs have a higher propensity for scavenging and swallowing things than other types of doogie. When he's better I'm only taking him out on a muzzle because he literally tries to eat everything, and some sick bassa has been scattering poisoned food around the park. Probably some knuckle dragging troglodyte from the rugby club ლ(ಠ_ಠლ)

my last Lab was quite sensible in that he'd chew through everything, but wouldn't swallow stuff.

Yeah, I once knew a black lab who chomped through a rotting sheep’s carcass and then puked maggots all over the carpet. She also had her head in the dishwasher half a second after you opened it, to lick the dirty plates.
