Francisco - Cosmic Beam Experience, 1976
two short but well produced 70's freakfolk songs. and three tracks of massive bowed metal, field recordings, chimes and drums, some moments are up there w/ Garlo's 'Vent De Guitares'
― Milton Parker, Tuesday, 13 November 2007 22:06 (sixteen years ago) link
actually it's closer to a 70's Zoviet-France that keeps getting derailed by folky new age interludes
― Milton Parker, Tuesday, 13 November 2007 22:08 (sixteen years ago) link
oo ive been meaning to track that album down because of skots sweet smoke mix. sounds more like taj mahal travellers / early ash ra than zf though.

I just DL'd all of January and February. So far, I like:
Alesia Cosmos - Aeroproducts LP Arbete & Fritid Art Ensemble Of Chicago/Brigitte Fontaine (amazing record) Asmus Tietchens - In Die Nacht Aunt Sally Cage/Tudor - Indeterminacy (never heard this clasic before)
Did not like:
Alvaro (not weird at all) Ame Son (prog/jazz wank) Beau (pedestrian folk)
I haven't even made it past the "C" section yet!

Revive this shit.Best blog everrrr.Anyone listen to that Warning album?Any suggestions?
― NewBeefLover, Thursday, 16 October 2008 22:54 (fifteen years ago) link
warning album's awesome. cod-disco-death-metal-goth-80s shit. zenith effluvium is ok late 70s basement jams. more psych/hippie than debris or whatever they reference. unfortunately the rest of my M-S mp3s are on my old PC and i haven't been able to get them to the new one yet so that's about all i remember right now.
― REIGN IN FUDGE (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Friday, 17 October 2008 07:22 (fifteen years ago) link
Yeah, the Warning record rules.I put it on for people and tell them it's the new Animal Collective record that just leaked. They go-"What?Get the fuck outta here"!

which reminds me of the abstract parts of Francisco's 'Cosmic Beam Experience' / Joe Jones 'Solar Music' / Harry Bertoia / & my favorites Peter Warren And Matt Samolis 'Bowed Metal Music'

that Om one is super hot. i was expecting bertoia, it's actually about as different as you can get. and still be brushing metal.
both bobby brown and francisco suffer from hippieitis. maybe it's more weirdo beachcomberitis.

OK this is probably a stupid if not offensive question but can someone list the poppier and/or more rhythmically repulsive (can I get a "funkier?") items on Mutant Sounds?
