yeah those are empanadas de pino, i think they're pretty great

some indian food is like dehydrating vegetables at high heat with a bunch of spices and very little oil/ghee. it can be healthy.

also daal seems to be healthy unless there's tons of ghee in the tadka, but adding butter to soup is the best way to move along the healthy/delicious curve

that said, my favorite indian food is fried potato and cheese balls + gravy, so you may have a point

these Salteñas look like calzones. they are huge.

Chilean empanadas have some serious issues with their dough. I've had a lot of bad empanadas here where the dough is way too dense or there is just too much of it.

I also think the bread here is kind of terrible in general. But there is an Eric Kayser near where I live.

i love that mexican tamales are like 50% meat

xpost if all the ingredients for pupusas were as prevalent or as easy as burritos I would probably prefer pupusas.

totally agree about burgers and steaks, not my thing at all. I love other meat but those are boring

oh gah, I think burgers are way way overrated. But this goes back to that burger vs pizza poll.

But I also don't care for rice, potatoes, soups, stews and chocolate...

I have previously said that I don't care for any burgers or steak and have been told that I haven't had a decent burg or steak yet, this may happen again.

I would guess that someone who doesn’t care for average steak would care even less for very good steak

I have had delicious burgers and steaks but it is probably 3-5% of the ones I have had in my life. Most are pretty bleh.

I think I just got irrationally angry at the amount of bad burgers I have had in my life.

I feel like most of the time i know when I'm ordering a good burger.

If I order a mediocre burger it's usually scratching a meat craving itch and I know what I'm getting (or not getting rather).

Rarely order steak out. Just so easy to do well at home, and there's always tends to be something more interesting on the menu.

I may have agreed with you guys re: burgers until the past weekend. I was working at an outdoor food festival and an neighboring vendor brought us over a tray of burgers. The tray sat there about 30 mins then I picked one up and... omg. Transcendence. Fresh, quality beef cooked about medium with a great smoky/bbq taste. Two slices of american melted on top. Only other ingredient was just a few wisps of sliced red onion. Not even sure there were any liquid condiments. I hadn't had a great one in a while, but a burger can best the BEST THING.

The last good burger I had was during a pub quiz in Feb. It had a fried egg and blood pudding on it. The piece of meat was secondary.

I had a carnitas burrito today. I always have them skimp on the rice although that makes my burrito a little soggy diapery. I get everything on it. And extra hot sauce.

Rice is so useless. Except in sushi. And I guess for sake.
