Matthews has been garbage for years; he was spouting shit back last decade. So he's just gotten worse.

Yeah, it put me off even getting anything past "Fanfare"
Actually, what put me off more, was when I picked up the album and track 1 was "Fanfare" and track (last) was "Fanfare (reprise)" and I thought "Sounds like only one great track then"

ah that sucks about matthews, i like his stuff...
Dick Dale:
And it's not just the music Dale prefers from back in the [1930s]. "Things were much better back then, you didn't have a deficit," he says. "The greedy, money-hungry people that run this government now [May 2016], that's why they don't want Donald Trump near them. They're scared he'll come in and kick out the freeloaders. Trump isn't going to take that crap."
Well that's rich.

this is so fucking tragic, this is the same guy who's literally out there touring with his declining body because he has no retirement or health care because this country sucks so much, yet he's worried about these fictional "freeloaders"

Yeah and hate to harp on DiNizio but he also crowdsourced his healthcare while simultaneously being libertarian

xpostYup. Dick is supposedly *doubly* insured but still incurs monthly $3,000 medical bills.

Tobin Sprout of GBV, at the very best bi-conservaturious.

Ever since the various FB shares revealed this years ago I've chosen to ignore this fact, kind of like how I ignore it when getting together with similarly minded family. Tobin always reminded me of my Ohio cousins etc. anyway.

xpost considering the shitty coordination policies of lots of plans, that's not surprising (albeit infuriating). Often secondary plans have "non-duplication of benefits" rules so instead of just picking up the rest of the tab, they will only pay the difference between what the primary plan paid, and what the secondary plan would have paid if they had been the primary plan. so that could mean if Plan A (Medicare or whomever) paid 80%, and Plan b normally pays 90%, Plan B only adds an additional 10%.
so you could be paying expensive premiums for two plans and STILL be responsible for 10% of your medical costs, which if you're old and have a chronic ailment that requires any kind of expensive recurring inpatient or outpatient care, can add up to excruciating totals.

re: dick dale - that sort of thing reminds me of when people quote william s. burroughs to try and prove how horrible gun control is. people, i don't care how good a book naked lunch is, a guy who shot and killed his wife is not a persuasive argument _against_ gun control.

yeah Matthews is a fucking weirdo. sounds like he's gotten even worse. he friended me on FB at one point (I have no idea why) and I dumped him when he started getting really weird. I mean he's not so much just a conservative but like, a fucking crazy person.

i mean, not to say that all crazy people are conservative, but aren't we at the point where it's safe to say that there are no non-crazy conservatives left in america?
