Sunny and in the low 60s in Texas... hi March, I like you so far

erry red flag (f. hazel), Thursday, 1 March 2018 14:53 (four years ago) link

I mysteriously lost an hour this morning getting ready for work

I SWEAR when i shut off my alarm it was 7. Did my usual approx one hour getting ready routine without further consulting clock. Looked at phone for first time and it was 9. Was supposed to be on a call with EU Supply Chain at 9.30

hell yes it's march

Lockhorn. Lockhorn breed-uh (Jon not Jon), Thursday, 1 March 2018 15:37 (four years ago) link

Dear FYQ3, let’s go

El Tomboto, Friday, 30 March 2018 12:37 (four years ago) link

march is always so goddamn long but this one feels especially so, I hate this month so much

marcos, Friday, 30 March 2018 12:43 (four years ago) link

my mom's birthday is at the end of march -- this is historically the only thing i look forward to in the entire month
aside from it being over

weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Friday, 30 March 2018 13:26 (four years ago) link

ten months pass...

it's almost time!!!!

march will get off to a booming start for me this year -- i'm going on a trip!! i think i am going to begin conceiving of Nov-Feb as a quarantined period of the year and the rest of the year will not suffer from its many assorted unpleasantries.

weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 20:15 (three years ago) link

Have a good trip!

ian, Wednesday, 27 February 2019 20:32 (three years ago) link

March is not my favorite, but it beats February.

My mom’s bday is also in late March.

mom tossed in kimchee (quincie), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 20:44 (three years ago) link

I was just thinking it’s time for this thread again!

tokyo rosemary, Wednesday, 27 February 2019 20:45 (three years ago) link

march is when the light comes back and the darkness starts to recede
it's not the best but it beats nov-feb

weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 20:47 (three years ago) link

March !! Months of Mars!

| (Latham Green), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 20:49 (three years ago) link

Winter feels extra long this year.

tokyo rosemary, Wednesday, 27 February 2019 20:51 (three years ago) link

i like it not being dark when i get home from work.

but the march weather in vancouver is usually bad. often doesn't really feel like spring, more like the end of winter. first time i was ever in vancouver - march 2012 - it snowed

( ͡☉ ͜ʖ ͡☉) (jim in vancouver), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 20:51 (three years ago) link

it IS the end of winter but it is the END OF WINTER
that is why i celebrate march

it marks the beginning of the good times, which last 8 months to the bad times' 4

weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 20:53 (three years ago) link

too soon

mookieproof, Wednesday, 27 February 2019 20:55 (three years ago) link

yeah we don't really have that kind of seasonality. starts raining in september, stops at the end of june. coldest december to february, can be sunny in april, may, june.

( ͡☉ ͜ʖ ͡☉) (jim in vancouver), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 20:55 (three years ago) link

it's more than the weather for me -- the cold season (nov-feb) is accompanied by a slew of holidays that i don't care about/would prefer to ignore and a hibernation period i find stultifying. March-October brings increasing sun, warmth, AND people. that's important to me. i didn't realize how important it was for a long time but it is important to me!!

weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 20:58 (three years ago) link

too soon

not soon enough!!!

tokyo rosemary, Wednesday, 27 February 2019 21:01 (three years ago) link

where you traveling to?

valet doberman (Jon not Jon), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 21:06 (three years ago) link

Mexico City!! El D.F.!!

I feel it will get the worthwhile portion of the year off to a solid start. I'm really starting to divide my year differently so I can make the most of the good times and minimize the harm of the bad times. New plan.

weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 21:07 (three years ago) link

start planning for spring and summer (and beyond) in jan/feb --> have a much better spring/summer and also something to look forward to in the future instead of endless dread

weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 21:08 (three years ago) link

I'm from Wisconsin and last year we got pummeled with 2 feet of snow on April 15

but, looking at the forecast, it does appear next week is the last week below freezing

I like your new strategy a lot, LL! I will join with you on this!

mom tossed in kimchee (quincie), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 21:34 (three years ago) link

welcome!! nov-feb is for planning the rest of the year, catching up on various boring shit, and minimizing harm (don't get injured on the ice, for example). two seasons: on and off!!

weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 21:37 (three years ago) link

assume there's gonna be some lousy smarch weather ahead of us in nyc at least

jolene club remix (BradNelson), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 21:39 (three years ago) link

will i ever be able to resist a lousy smarch weather joke even though the screencap from the simpsons is embedded upthread? no

jolene club remix (BradNelson), Wednesday, 27 February 2019 21:40 (three years ago) link

i kinda like winter :/

THIS winter sucked total ass though

Thread makes no sense when viewed from Quebec.

romanesque architect (pomenitul), Sunday, 1 March 2020 10:52 (two years ago) link

In the UK, we've just had the wettest February on record; they don't keep wind records but I'd happily bet it's been the windiest, too. The woods are a carnage of fallen trees and the fields are shin-deep in water but the days are heavier with light and the birds are singing so I'll take it.

Ngolo Cantwell (Chinaski), Sunday, 1 March 2020 10:56 (two years ago) link

I was out yesterday evening walking through advanced quagmire in the rain, even grassy areas are so saturated you have to watch your footing on hills. The daffodils are coming up nicely though.

calzino, Sunday, 1 March 2020 11:03 (two years ago) link

It’s here!! This winter was kind and merciful compared to last year. Not the weather so much (though that too) but circumstances. Proud I’m still in one piece and 100% ready for SPRING!!!

weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Sunday, 1 March 2020 13:39 (two years ago) link

fuck february
