All jokes aside I never pass up an opportunity to give Crowded House some love

And We Danced - The Hooters

I have never heard this song in my life

had (crüt), Sunday, 25 February 2018 00:54 (six years ago) link

I love almost every song on this comp and if I needed a compilation in my life I would buy this one.

No punk on here as far as I can see, but I'd say the most punkesque are My Sharona and Stray Cats. (In the sense of loosest arrangements and most driving straight beats.)

"Rock the Casbah," "Kids in America," and "I Eat Cannibal" were on the charts at the same time as a lot of this material. Now THOSE I might admit to the punk pantheon, but just barely.

I don't think I've heard this before, either, although it sounds like a lot of things I've heard. I do remember the Hooters' existence. I know AOR/mainstream rock playlists from the late 80s like the back of my hand but this was probably a few years too ealry.

No purposes. Sounds. (Sund4r), Sunday, 25 February 2018 15:19 (six years ago) link

This is between 'Whip It' and 'Be Near Me', and I went with the latter because not only is it ABC's best single but it's underrated as fuck.

"Send Me An Angel"

the future is now, Sunday, 25 February 2018 19:44 (six years ago) link

I listen to ABC's third album quite a lot, so Be Near Me but it could have been Flock Of Seagulls quite easily.

One Thing Leads To Another - The Fixx

alien lames (NickB), Monday, 26 February 2018 10:38 (six years ago) link

Aw, the best of The Fixx is really quite fun.

Gerald McBoing-Boing, Monday, 26 February 2018 17:12 (six years ago) link

THE FIXX song is the opposite of bad.

Also loved it in House of the Devil:

Weird out of context as this scene happens in between tense moments in the movie.

Wtf is that “send me an angel” song. First time hearing and it sounds subpar next to the other gems in here.

"Send Me an Angel" is a very deserving second place finish on here:
