my all time favorite final scene / shot is Synecdoche, New York. it’s not even close. Was speechless & in a daze for an hour afterward. Shares something v important with the ending of Personal Shopper, a choice I’m surprised more filmmakers don’t use.

First thought is The Third Man, but on second thought the goodbye to all that optimistic Americanism is a bit tired for my personal taste.

Wilder's endings are pretty, pretty good.
