It was the first one that came to mind when I saw this thread. Going over the lyrics, it may not be strictly about 'being alone' in one's room or whatever, and yeah he does address someone in the lyrics, but I always pictured the dialogue in the narrator's mind, the whole thing going thru his head as he takes his walk at night. It's very much a nighttime song, a reflective song. on some days it's my favorite AC song.

I don't think it's meant to be about being alone, but Pink Floyd's "The Great Gig In The Sky" was the first song that came to mind.
I like to listen to it alone, and it seems to be about feeling so deeply.
