just saying he's no neil diamond is all

pretty sure all the 'diamondheads' out there will back me up on this one

Doctor Casino, Monday, 5 February 2018 00:28 (six years ago) link

lol yeah. i was only kidding.

are there "diamondheads" in here? or just out there?

budo jeru, Monday, 5 February 2018 00:30 (six years ago) link

stands to reason ilm must have at least one "diamondhead." i mean we've been able to sustain multiple threads and conversations about late-period wings albums and we're just coming off the very lively billy joel listening thread... there must be someone here with opinions on diamond deep cuts. or "diamonds in the rough" as they're known.

Van Morrison has a few albums with multiples of his face on the same cover (fingers crossed for formatting success)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Period_of_Transition#/media/File:Period_Of_Transition_album_cover.jpg

and many others with a single helping of Van's face

that's not my post, Friday, 7 February 2020 04:49 (four years ago) link

^hmmm, that would be Moondance and A Period of Transition

that's not my post, Friday, 7 February 2020 04:50 (four years ago) link

Morrissey is a prime example of this, with the original cover of Southpaw Grammar being the only exception. (He put his face on the cover of the reissue.)

simply red were the worst for that pictures-of-one-dude-on-the-cover-when-it's-meant-to-be-a-band thing. every sleeve basically.

Japan to thread! (Adolescent Sex notwithstanding. Obscure Alternatives is really pushing it.)

The Go-Betweens managed 8 out of 9.

If you flip the CD booklet on the exception (not sure there even was a vinyl issue locally) you can pretend it was 9/9 and the ugly line drawing never happened. (Not that many of the portrait covers were good!)

Mayra Andrade. Excused for it, because she does have one of the most perfect faces I've ever seen.
