"Love Galore" is my best guess

Simon H., Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:21 (six years ago) link

ONE

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:21 (six years ago) link

there's no way Boys is #1 so it's Love Galore i guess? or all 6 SZA tracks are in the 80s???

ufo, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:21 (six years ago) link

"love galore" is a wonderful song and i'd be happy to see it as no. 1

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:22 (six years ago) link

Wow I can't believe every track of CTRL is no 1 simultaneously!

josh az (2011nostalgia), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:22 (six years ago) link

but also like, sza suffering from unbelievable vote splitting is just as believable

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:22 (six years ago) link

One of the more suspenseful count-downs in a while.

Salt Lake City Motorcycle Accident Nerve Damage Lawyer (_Rudipherous_), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:22 (six years ago) link

It's gotta be Boys

Jeff W, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:23 (six years ago) link

congrats saer! surely the first time an ilxor takes the tracks crown!

save us johnny fever

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:23 (six years ago) link

hope it's SZA, the Charli song just makes me want to listen to the MIA song with the similar name

hoooyaaargh it's me satan (voodoo chili), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:23 (six years ago) link

Love Galore (or Drew Barrymore) would be a fine #1. i had Boys at 25 because i couldn't get it out of my head but i hope it isn't #1

ufo, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:24 (six years ago) link

music video with no boys in it vs. music video with mostly boys in it

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:24 (six years ago) link

We've all been thrown for a loop and it's going to go to Julien Baker.

MarkoP, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:24 (six years ago) link

sza suffering from unbelievable vote splitting is just as believable

didn't Ariel Pink get almost as many things nominated? def a bit odd for neither to get nothing in the 77 on that basis while other acts who will also do well in the albums list get two tracks no problem

nashwan, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:25 (six years ago) link

Great song, voted this high on the back of the amazing 80s italo style initial talk remix but the original is undeniable too. Album great as well

i know kore-eda (or something), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:25 (six years ago) link

it's been a weird year xp

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:25 (six years ago) link

I like CXCX just fine, but this is the weirdest #1 in this poll since "Wut."

I was strongly opposed to Simon's views on music videos until I watched some of that Tove Lo one

lol weren't his "views" merely "wait people still watch music videos?" *clicks on despacito as the 4,739,219,210th viewer*

:D
but srsly that Tove video is like pregnant spiderman goes to the dentist

rob, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:26 (six years ago) link

can't remember we ever had a tracks poll where after #2 ppl still had no idea what #1 would be

♫ very clever with maracas.jpg ♫ (Le Bateau Ivre), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:26 (six years ago) link

The bass drop (?) in New Rules is the one of the most perfect things ever devised.

daavid, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:26 (six years ago) link

ah

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:26 (six years ago) link

That kinda year.

a shadow of her former self :(

nashwan, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:26 (six years ago) link

well that kinda blows but otherwise great list everyone

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:26 (six years ago) link

I'm stunned @ no SZA, holy crap

Simon H., Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:27 (six years ago) link

We should be glad she chose to sing about Boys rather than Republicans.

MarkoP, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:27 (six years ago) link

SZA better win albums to make up for this

ufo, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:27 (six years ago) link

lots of diversity lots of quality, shame it inevitably petered out a bit at the end

hoooyaaargh it's me satan (voodoo chili), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:28 (six years ago) link

oof i hate this fucking song

faust apes (NickB), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:28 (six years ago) link

i don't even think "boys" is a bad song but the video soured me on it so bad

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:28 (six years ago) link

I'm giving "Boys" another chance but before today it wasn't even in my top 10 Charli XCX tracks

daavid, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:28 (six years ago) link

New Rules was robbed, dammit

josh az (2011nostalgia), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:28 (six years ago) link

lol same amount of votes

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:28 (six years ago) link

list is super thin on rnb in general, though my tracks ballot is as much to blame as anyone's. I assume all the rnb albums I voted for will place

rob, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:29 (six years ago) link

Huh, I really had no idea Boys was this popular. Thought to myself SZA would win for sure.

abcfsk, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:29 (six years ago) link

Is this the whole "ilxors voting on autopilot" thing Johnny was talking about? Because no ones excited about this

josh az (2011nostalgia), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:29 (six years ago) link

CTRL is one of those album's that if you ask 10 different people you'll prob get 9 different favorite songs, but still, it's shocking that not even Love Galore placed in the 77

hoooyaaargh it's me satan (voodoo chili), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:29 (six years ago) link

so... er... what is good about this song / video?

Badgers (dog latin), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:29 (six years ago) link

pc music at #1

ogmor, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:29 (six years ago) link

The "Boys" video isn't bad, but it's no "Ice Cream Truck."

Tarr Yang Preminger Argento Carpenter (Eric H.), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:29 (six years ago) link

i remember being enthralled by 'superlove' in this same poll rollout however many years ago but she's never made another song i like enough to vote for

ciderpress, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:29 (six years ago) link

srsly that Tove video is like pregnant spiderman goes to the dentist

lol

marcos, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:29 (six years ago) link

I never even heard "Boys" until I saw that it won.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:30 (six years ago) link

god i forgot will.i.am is in the video

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:30 (six years ago) link

i was about to say

#TeamHailing (imago), Thursday, 25 January 2018 19:30 (six years ago) link

Huh.

Will once again plug the Howie Lee remix of Boys, though it just missed my ballot.

Interesting rollout. Can't believe SZA didn't make it. First year I don't catch up on the Singles Jukebox and "Akanamali" takes me by surprise, though I guess I don't follow South African stuff compared to Nigeria/Ghana/Angola/etc. Gorgeous track!
