ILM's Top 77 Tracks of 2017

Seeing Charly Bliss last year in The Hug and Pint, Glasgow was so much fun. They were genuinely enthralled at how well received they were (for being outside the US). Great album / tracks.

Definitely sounds like Kay Hanley to me - which gives the whole record the feel of a lost Josie & The Pussycats second album.

yeah the original is probably the 4th or 5th best song on the album. pretty, but doesn't approach the heights of their best stuff, which "slomo," "star roving," etc. do

This would have played at #33 even without the remix fwiw.

it's still a coldplay song with a nice bass drop :P

I adore the outro of slomo with Rachel's vocals

this was quite underwhelming as a single but worked much better in context of the album. love the remix. Don't Know Why and Slomo were the album highlights and are some of their best ever songs

Even as a Slowdive fan, I feel like 13 is a little too hight for this. That middle 8th is something else, tho!

The original version is one of my least favourite songs on the surprisingly great album. The remix is indeed really awesome.

I'm not particularly into that Kesha song but got weirdly emotional when it kicked up for the last third.

it is heaps better than the original imo and more alligned with where slowdive were going on pygmalion

you can argue about whether Isbell or Nilufer Yanya are "rock" or if the St. Vincent song has "guitars"

disagreed if only bc "glue" and "aura" offer totally different experiences both of which are p awesome

catching up: kind of forgot how effervescent and sprightly the Kehlani is, though I did vote for the album

heard this earlier in the year and didn't care about it but now it seems really cool, will have to check out the album

gutted i missed bicep in december due to the rainbow shutting down

bicep another one that's elevated almost incalculably by the video

The Slowdive song was underwhelming for me (imago basically OTM) but the remix is something else. The Alvvays song was better post-shoegaze/dream-pop/w/e imo, though the album made my teeth hurt a little.
