Yeah I had a lot of things to say about Palette in the even of it placing but I've given up so I put it on my notepad for me to post after the list is over.

Some people toss around Kate Bush comparisons liberally and ad nauseam, but that part is very Kate Bushy to me.

Sweet, was getting nervous about "Akrakabo" (I'm the other #1 voter) - IIRC Francophone/coupé-décalé stuff hasn't done as well here c/f Anglophone/Lusophone stuff. The album's great if a little exhausting, but the moment the guitar emerges (as everyone else has mentioned) was 2017's sublimest musical moment.

Yaeji & Mondo Grosso videos complement each other, sort've!

Enjoying "Grafts", though just realised I'd meant to vote for Sarah Davachi but forgot.

The Chromeo remix salvaged "Green Light" for me, which was unbearably omnipresent in New Zealand - the inverse of our tall poppy syndrome is eternal slavish devotion to anything/anyone that succeeds overseas. Big ups the Ron Gallipoli cover at the NZ Silver Scroll awards.

xp to Brad - Yeah feels like that ones been around forever now. It's one of the few ones I really don't mind that get regular play on the work radio

Looks bleak for any dancehall or soca noms - guess artists like Shenseea or Bunji Garlin having strong years contributed to vote-splitting etc :/

4 of my 25 have placed, not expecting my #1 to place now. Of the others on my list the only ones I think may place are Tove Lo and The Black Madonna.

Big For Your Boots by Stormzy is definitely placing in the top 20, maybe top 10 given he had no other songs nominated when I last looked.

Given the amount of bobbins in the list already then The Black Madonna's He Is The Voice That I Hear is in with a shout.

Reserve at least one place for whatever Carly Rae Jepsen released last year, because this is ILM. I'd guess Lemon by NERD/Rihanna and at least one Fever Ray as well.

I imagine Julien Baker got badly vote split, she had so many noms (I voted for "Funeral Pyre")

There's also a song I kind of expect to place that will likely be met with a lot of groans and comments about the album being disappointing and ILM voting on autopilot.

I think we have a very solid idea of the top 20 between the last few posts, hoping we all lose our minds tomorrow tho
