One thread for albums and tracks is more than enough. I'll throw in some faves soon. My spotify playlist already has about 50 things in it.

Agreed. This thread has been perfectly fine for umpteen years.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 20 January 2018 15:39 (six years ago) link

Favourite thing so far is the Pantsula! comp of late 80s South African dance music. I'm far from an expert but I hear early house, Italo, Shangaan sounds. Cover is some notable album art too:

We seem to be in a golden age of African music compilations right now. I'll need to give the Pantsula a good listen. I am also really really enjoying the 'Sweet As Broken Dates' comp of Somalian music on Ostinato at the moment.

Getting really addicted to Mor Mor - Heaven’s Only Wishful
I have a soft spot for songs that are sung continously low key and monotonic until the end where the singer starts sing-shouts. Selena Gomez Bad Liar did this too.

Shout out to a September album release that I just caught up with but was an insta-buy: the latest Tokyo Elvis LP "Nice & Pleasant".
