This always struck me as better representing the morbid ideal of psycho rather than the super hokey scooby doo villain unmasking/explanation scenes before it.

my all time favorite final scene / shot is Synecdoche, New York. it’s not even close. Was speechless & in a daze for an hour afterward. Shares something v important with the ending of Personal Shopper, a choice I’m surprised more filmmakers don’t use.
