theyre probably about where they should be considering their inexperience/age and such. Kobe had some good points about them recently

yeah its def foolish to expect young players to win the lakers problem is more that theyll be lucky if one of their young players matures into a star

lag∞n, Monday, 11 December 2017 00:14 (six years ago) link

would you rather have brandon ingram or jaylen brown

J0rdan S., Monday, 11 December 2017 01:36 (six years ago) link

brown, tho ingram is def showing signs this year his game still pretty fd up, brown is already very solid his floor is way higher, ingram maybe has a higher ceiling tho he cant shoot so far, brown is 40% from 3 idk

lag∞n, Monday, 11 December 2017 01:45 (six years ago) link

obvs the context of their teams/roles makes a comparison difficult

lag∞n, Monday, 11 December 2017 01:45 (six years ago) link

brown seems like he has a better mindtype too

lag∞n, Monday, 11 December 2017 01:46 (six years ago) link

brown, love 2 favor system guys

Men's Scarehouse - "You're gonna like the way you're shook." (m bison), Monday, 11 December 2017 02:58 (six years ago) link

i think having watched a lot of brown i'm a little less high on him than some ppl and having watched a little ingram i find him interesting tho not even close to a complete player so i'm probably not qualified to answer this question.

call all destroyer, Monday, 11 December 2017 03:03 (six years ago) link

brown is just like a little mechanical in a way that makes me think his basketball instincts will limit him. good rotation player, starter. not more than that.

call all destroyer, Monday, 11 December 2017 03:07 (six years ago) link

p sure celtics will be happy with that tho

Men's Scarehouse - "You're gonna like the way you're shook." (m bison), Monday, 11 December 2017 04:00 (six years ago) link

i think i'd probably still take ingram bcuz of his ceiling as a scorer but jaylen may be a more "winning" player

i wanted to crap on the lakers for taking ingram no. 2 overall but but that draft was pretty terrible

J0rdan S., Monday, 11 December 2017 04:35 (six years ago) link

brown at his current trajectory will prob make an allstar team at some point, hes def a lil mechanical but its crazy how well he plays for a mechanical 21 y/o, and hes got a lot of time to get less mechanical, if u had told me this time last year that hed be shooting 40% i wldve said no that doesnt sound right but youre the one from the future i guess, what im trying to say is his jump shot was rough as hell, its still far from perfect but its a shit ton better than it was

lag∞n, Monday, 11 December 2017 05:31 (six years ago) link

ingram shot poorly in college and continues to shoot poorly which isnt as good from a shooting perspective

lag∞n, Monday, 11 December 2017 05:32 (six years ago) link

u know who else is mechanical kawhi leonard now he is the best player

Men's Scarehouse - "You're gonna like the way you're shook." (m bison), Monday, 11 December 2017 05:41 (six years ago) link

yeah i was thinking the same there are some super athletic huge wing types who have overcome being mechanical and looking like they only play basketball because theyre built for it to ascend to star status your kawhis and your paul georges and people of that nature, not saying brown is gonna get there but hes def already proven hes a guy who knows how to work on his game, and obvs also has a great learning/coaching situation and a role he can grow into at his own pace

lag∞n, Monday, 11 December 2017 05:46 (six years ago) link

+ he has the goggles

lag∞n, Monday, 11 December 2017 05:48 (six years ago) link

idk why but jaylen always looks shorter to me than he's listed. i feel like he'll need to add a lot more offensive skill to become a truly great offensive player... it's hard to imagine him just pulling up and shooting over guys off the dribble consistently and things of that nature. he's already pretty good in the post tho? and at worst he'll be one of the best 3 and D wings in the league... an igoudala-like role seems like a decent midpoint for his potential.

J0rdan S., Monday, 11 December 2017 05:50 (six years ago) link

like...sixers, nugs, or warriors iggy?

Men's Scarehouse - "You're gonna like the way you're shook." (m bison), Monday, 11 December 2017 05:51 (six years ago) link

prime iggy was a very good player that level of solid all starship wld be a fine outcome for sure, i know its weird he doesnt look great out there but hes already quite effective which makes me think hes got a pretty high ceiling, like he looks like hes playing at half speed most of the time just ramping up the pace which one wld think is something that will come with experience will make him a lot better

lag∞n, Monday, 11 December 2017 05:55 (six years ago) link

its seems doubtful hell ever be an elite scorer but i cld easily see him as a 18-20pts a game with all world D type of guy

lag∞n, Monday, 11 December 2017 05:57 (six years ago) link

i mean shit hes already scoring 15pts in 30mins in a crowd of 3rd options maybe he will be an elite scorer

lag∞n, Monday, 11 December 2017 05:58 (six years ago) link

i mean iggy in general in that he would be overstretched as a lead scorer/#1 option on offense but as a potential versatile elite defender who can hit 3s and put the ball on the floor when need be he would be very valuable

J0rdan S., Monday, 11 December 2017 17:12 (six years ago) link

fran!

Prominant former American player who played for Ball brothers's new coach had some insight on him: 1. Competent coach w/free-wheeling pick-and-roll offense. 2. Speaks no English 3. Screams the entire game. 4. Sold meat out of his car trunk to his players after practice. I swear.

The Better Business Bureau has given the Big Baller Brand the lowest rating possible: an F.

On its website, the organization says Big Baller Brand's ratings are based on 32 complaints filed against the business, a failure to respond to 12 of those complaints and five complaints that still haven't been resolved.

Most of the complaints are from people who said they bought an item from the Big Baller website in November and December, and that they were charged for their orders even though that item or items have failed to show up.

"Better Business Bureau is as outdated as the Yellow Pages," LaVar Ball said, in a text, to ESPN. "Who cares about them? Tell them that Yelp! has replaced the Better Business Bureau. We honestly thought the Better Business Bureau was out of business. The new BBB stands for the Big Baller Brand."

coaches not liking that story

After LaVar Ball story, Stan Van Gundy says he’ll deny ESPN its usual access https://t.co/GB9jSyp8yy

lag∞n, Tuesday, 9 January 2018 20:17 (six years ago) link

the lavar story is interesting, on one hand he’s clearly mentally ill and ESPN’s coverage of him is tabloid trash. otoh carlisle was saying things like ESPN owed it to the NBA, its “partner”, to avoid pushing these stories. so this van gundy comment is concerning given the context

k3vin k., Tuesday, 9 January 2018 20:26 (six years ago) link

the coaches def arent in this to protect journalism

lag∞n, Tuesday, 9 January 2018 20:35 (six years ago) link

i guess i can see why ppl cover lavar -- he's crazy, says crazy shit, and is a godsend for the hot-take machine. and i guess that extends somewhat to lonzo, despite his being the second-best rookie on a last-place team

but who are these people who want updates about teenagers playing in lithuania? it's not the offseason, there are actual nba games happening now! plus actual college games involving trae young, etc! i mean tebow was at least sent by god to spread his good word and has a built-in audience; why does anyone care about the lesser balls?

mookieproof, Tuesday, 9 January 2018 20:46 (six years ago) link

because it's weird to send your teen sons to play in lithuania b/c you're killing time until they're allowed to sign with the lakers.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 9 January 2018 20:57 (six years ago) link

some other players have done it eg brandon jennings tho no one as young as the youngest ball afaik

Nothing will prepare you for the rigors of the NBA like playing hoops against kristaps' homunculi.
