Episode 6 the funniest of the season by far.

Hilarious episode. The puckered lip face he makes while Susie talks about the remodeling had me rolling. Also, Funkhouser re: the tapwater lol

Susie and Larry scenes were solid in this new one
― Week of Wonders (Ross), Monday, 13 November 2017 06:01 (six years ago) link
loving the new season. yeah it's a little more polished and the guest casting is a little more obvious (Elizabeth Banks's "bad acting" was tough to sit through) but still pretty pretty pretty good.
it makes total sense than Cheryl and Ted would start dating. that whole conversation between him and Larry, having Larry call up Mary and get turned down in front of him, was so amazing. the callback to this later was pure gold.

high point of the season so far imo, but I love her

Susie really needs to unleash the fury sometime soon.
― Matt DC, Wednesday, 15 November 2017 21:20 (six years ago) link
The Romanian Uber driver was an amazing minor character though.
I would be fine with this whole show being LD, Leon, and Jeff's wife bitching at both of them

I enjoy the puzzle like aspect of the intertwining plot lines - all humorous in their own way - and how they ultimately come together.
― calstars, Wednesday, 15 November 2017 22:43 (six years ago) link
I was waiting for it to come out that Larry's new gf was Romanian
― Οὖτις, Wednesday, 15 November 2017 22:45 (six years ago) link
xp but that hasn't really happened as much this season. lots of plot lines just taper off, and some conclusions come out of nowhere (like the dick-drawing neighbor who didn't show up til the final scene).
Overall, it's been funny though, especially Susie and Leon.
― bodak horseman (voodoo chili), Wednesday, 15 November 2017 23:41 (six years ago) link
I've been wondering about that -- I'm not sure if it's done to defy expectations or if LD can't get the writing to work out any more.

current season has a more laid back, chatty vibe overall, i think the less dense plotting suits it

Was gonna say the same thing.

to those that bemoan the lack of plotting, this episode showed it's still connected to the fatwa theme of the earlier eps
― Week of Wonders (Ross), Monday, 20 November 2017 04:25 (six years ago) link
this felt like a very deliberate callback/inversion of the Seinfeld finale
― Οὖτις, Monday, 20 November 2017 16:46 (six years ago) link
the last few episodes have been pretty funny i think. some of the scenes earlier in the season felt particularly contrived -- i.e. larry having an extended argument w/ a stranger about door holding etiquette or whatever -- but these new ones have felt pretty seamless. the yoga episode was really good.

laughing all week about when Susie referred to Eddie Haskell as “an obsequious little shit” and Larry arguing that he had “access to the house”
― Nerdstrom Poindexter, Monday, 20 November 2017 18:21 (six years ago) link
I didn't understand that joke at all (Britisher).
The sequence with the Muslim guy rounding up Larry's greatest hits was delightful.

starting with ep 4 this season seemed to get a lot better, not sure why the first 3 episodes were so unmemorable but it felt pretty off
― In a slipshod style (Ross), Tuesday, 21 November 2017 19:49 (six years ago) link
kept searching for more links to latest ep cuz i thought they were mislabeled streams of s9e1 starting out with larry expelling the kissing couple from outside his office window
― flopson, Wednesday, 22 November 2017 00:41 (six years ago) link
classic episode. Larry's previous house owner coming to inspect his house and see how it's changed is an all-time nightmare scenario

pretty funny ep, laughed out loud at Susie gettin some cowboy shucker action on the DL
Lin Manuel Miranda/Hamilton appearance was funny but also confirmed my "this is the worst fucking garbage ever" allergic reaction to that kind RAP: THE MUSICAL crap.

― Οὖτις, Tuesday, 28 November 2017 18:11 (six years ago) link
well maybe not that huge idk how big theater audiences actually are tbh
the only RAP: THE MUSICAL production I would get behind is a stage version of Prince Paul's "Prince Among Thieves"

(which would also have to include all the performers from the record)
It's the best-selling cast album in 54 years and the tenth-best-selling US album of last year, it's not just "theatre audiences" that like itAlso it's great

Larry was OTM about apologies/gratitude in this episode, but his treatment of the girl who was a "stand-in" was pretty terrible. Good finale overall

Fun episode all in all, but felt kind of forced it bringing it up to date. Kind of familiar standup gripes, expecting the next episode to have Larry get fed up with they/them pronouns.
― ... (Eazy), Monday, 20 January 2020 15:21 (four years ago) link
The “mocha joe” conceit is an old standby routine of Larry vs restaurants and felt kind of thin. But I liked the wobbly table. I didn’t think the harassment stuff was funny
