I might have sneaked one or two of mine along the way but most of these are things I find in skips when the council isn't looking. They dumped a load last week but I've had trouble extracting much of worth from the tapes as a dog had bitten right into some of them

Follow the trail man. Search the skips. <3

If we daydreamed more we would go to war less, we would probably also go to the asda less

Dang are these really your tracks? I wondered about that. They're really great (actually I like them better than what you post in the bobbins thread!).

No, mostly they are just charming pieces of unknown ephemera I've found along the wayside that will waft into and back out of our lives to return to the ether

Full marks

I popped in the town hall and they were having some kind of event and met up with these lads, very welcoming atmosphere

saer, Sunday, 5 November 2017 11:00 (one year ago) Permalink

A cheery exuberant winter warmer now the pasties are no longer half price!

saer, Tuesday, 7 November 2017 07:07 (one year ago) Permalink

wedding one is amazing, both the music and the mesmerizing video.

saw that I can't go to your yt channel and, like, play all your tunes on an honest day's work, and it saddens me deeply.

A return to murkier times, I took a wrong turn and.....

saer, Friday, 10 November 2017 21:30 (one year ago) Permalink

The main from the council came round with some proper vibes. I don't think he was really from the council, and I was going to tell him so, when suddenly the defence began to clearm and I was able to deliver a slide rule pass, on a sixpence as they used to say. The defence was in disarray, we were through, Rhyl 2 Astrakhan 0, the celebrations carried on right through the periodic table

looking forward to spending some time with these lads over the weekend! '''='''

These non-league lads are a genial bunch, they'll look after you alright!

saer, Saturday, 18 November 2017 11:20 (one year ago) Permalink

Waving at passers by I wonder to myself, why don't they stop more often?

saer, Saturday, 18 November 2017 20:58 (one year ago) Permalink

Mates, get a load of this, thats the ticket alright

saer, Sunday, 19 November 2017 10:17 (one year ago) Permalink

That last one was an interloper alright, how did it sneak its way into a winter jams thread? Here is a return to winter atmospheres, is grim up north unless you dream

saer, Monday, 20 November 2017 08:11 (one year ago) Permalink

I almost forget to mention I had another trip to Perm. There were some new colleagues and it was all a little intense for me but there were no broken bones which is the main thing! You can have a look here if you like!

saer, Monday, 20 November 2017 20:02 (one year ago) Permalink

Don't argue, alright

saer, Friday, 24 November 2017 14:20 (one year ago) Permalink

music with words in it is kinda like a t-shirt with words on it

ur-oik (rip van wanko), Friday, 24 November 2017 15:17 (one year ago) Permalink

The words are there you just have to dream them into or out of being, wrap up warm here is some winters edutainment

saer, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 00:32 (one year ago) Permalink

Its been a while since we had a proper shipyard brexit banger, there's a boatload of these in the skip round the back of Greggs I'll see if I can fish any more out tomorrow

saer, Thursday, 30 November 2017 16:31 (one year ago) Permalink

saw your summons to Chorley in the Identification Of Music Group but none of the lads were heading to Greggs at the same time alas!

Moody prince, don't get lost in the way end

saer, Monday, 4 December 2017 22:47 (one year ago) Permalink

I found a cracker in the Brexit section in the skip round the back of Greggs today, I think someone has tipped me off to the council though, this one is in shreds. I will post what I can salvage!

saer, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 14:55 (one year ago) Permalink

I got out of there just in time - the council boys were no match for the lads from Greggs, I was just glad to be able to salvage something

saer, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 15:37 (one year ago) Permalink

Just a moment looks like there's a problem with the curvature of the earth, lets try again

saer, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 15:38 (one year ago) Permalink

good time

Susan Stranglehands (jed_), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 16:04 (one year ago) Permalink

Some of these lads are too rough for me, lets have a return to more serene environments where we can breathe a little easier

saer, Thursday, 7 December 2017 05:58 (one year ago) Permalink

one for the lads in the away end, no room for hoofball in the dream state

saer, Sunday, 10 December 2017 14:35 (one year ago) Permalink

And a bit of the old five go mad in manx you know!

saer, Sunday, 10 December 2017 15:07 (one year ago) Permalink

Look at these sprightly lads dreaming of a better future

saer, Wednesday, 13 December 2017 21:35 (one year ago) Permalink

A cheery note from the back room!

Every time I come to this thread, I like to scroll up and rewatch the wedding one.

That last one has a similar vibe.

o. nate, Saturday, 23 December 2017 02:09 (eleven months ago) Permalink

half-priced vibes courtesy of the council

four months pass...

I saw this theatre show called Western Society from the german/uk collective Gob Squad. They found this strange video on youtube of a family gathering that only had about ten views and they set about trying to recreate/re-enact the video. At a certain point it becomes clear that The Gob Squad know the video too well to re-enact the video as they wish since they know it too well it lacks the spontaneity required so they choose random people from the audience to do it by throwing a teddy bear (iirc) into the audience and whoever catches it has to be part of the re-enactment. The gob squad members take the audience places in the seating bank and control the audience members (now performers) via linked headsets, telling them how to re-enact the action of the random youtube video. After running the scene a few times they get the audience members to do a final take, so to speak, while running the original clip in the background. Its funny while they are building up to it and then when they do the final take it is, for some reason I'm not sure I can define, supremely and overwhelmingly moving.

I'm not sure how that related to your videos and music but I have thought about it several times while watching your films. And it's not for the obvious reasons, I don't think.

Heavy Messages (jed_), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 00:19 (seven months ago) Permalink

yes, the obvious reason is thinking about how some of these videos may be re-enacted but there's more to it that I can't quite work out.

yer some man, saer.

Heavy Messages (jed_), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 00:25 (seven months ago) Permalink

maybe it's to do with the fact that you make these very interesting artifacts that not many people see. I don't mean that as a dis at all but it adds to the somewhat arcane quality of the project.

Heavy Messages (jed_), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 00:30 (seven months ago) Permalink

Late Work for Uhz is a cover of Moments in Love, right?

Heavy Messages (jed_), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 00:47 (seven months ago) Permalink

thanks! I will have a look at that!

An unfortunate relegation to the bottom tier means that pasties are likely to be reduced further in price next year at Boundary Park but hopefully there'll be no corners cut!

saer, Friday, 11 May 2018 08:22 (seven months ago) Permalink

In the meantime we got some jams beamed in from Perm and so far its gone reasonably well, almost entirely unmolested by bureaucrats and circus strongmen
