have loved the last couple of records but this one hasn't quite got under my skin in the same way just yet. bet she is fantastic live though

I like this album a lot. It's a little unsettled, like she's sort of feeling her way toward the music she wants to make next. I love the droning bass tones, whatever's producing them.

I missed her album from last year, Il Viagio. It's very low-key. Some of the torch-song stuff but more splintered and dispersed. Makes me think of Roger Robinson in places, Tricky maybe, the last Low album. It's great, obviously.
