I loved the music he did for the original Spyro the Dragon game. Might be some of my favorite video game music ever.

Would love to find some kind of bootleg of his score for Fresh. Fuck a bunch of "Music Inspired by the Film" Wu-Tang ass shit.

Yeah, same thing as the "Ghost Dog" syndrome. Fuck these rhymes, I want pure, unadulterated RZA!

Some of Copeland's are good, but too many suffer from the "hey, I got a Synclavier!" syndrome.

taking sides: the "Ghost Dog" syndrome vs. the "hey, I got a Synclavier!" syndrome

I used to love the Sypro games just because of the music. Had no idea it was the ex-Police drummer. Excellent

I got the 'The Rhythmatist' LP at the 'world's largest garage sale' in Evanston, IL and just loved it. Still gets played often, and for some reason I respect his mining of African musical diaspora over many other musician's attempts.

Just picked this up and it is very very good:

Only complaint is that it does not have "Our Mother is Alive" from the Rumble Fish s/t - probably my favorite of his solo pieces. Though it is incredibly wide-reaching - I hadn't heard a big portion of this before.

His 2005 "live" album Orchestralli (I put it in quotes b/c it seems very much overdubbed) is also really good. Definitely something I need to pull out more often.

Ooh I need to listen to those. SC's drumming makes me happy like few others. I read some drumming blog dissecting elements of his style last year which was super toothsome for my non-drummer self.

Mr. Copeland on his dad -- which, thanks to the excellence of the former ILXor's interview, draws out a little more than he might have wanted to say, maybe.
