King of Kong

Watched this last night. It was pretty good, but I guess I was mildly disappointed. How many times did they play "You're The Best"? Like twelve? Also, enough with the line graph animation. They used it like a million billion times.

the crazy thing about billy mitchell is he's like the only alpha male in the entire retrogaming subculture so he can just completely dominate and cow everyone else involved.

Wow, I just realize Billy Mitchell has a bottle of his own hot sauce on the podium. I understand the urge to show everyone your hot sauce, but c'mon - leave it in the cabinet.

Billy's passion for hot sauce is actually his most endearing characteristic, to me.

Billy should play the bad guy in the new Tron film, just to stir shit up.

Did anyone see the South Park about whether Bono or Stan's dad had taken the biggest crap? Was this supposed to be a play on King of Kong?

So the new episode of South Park is clearly meant to be a sort of homage to this film, but instead comes off as a sort of half-hearted poop-is-funny rip-off.

That was the last episode of South Park I watched; quality seems to have finally fallen off.

just watched this for the first time tonight, and i loved loved loved it. just read upthread that billy re-broke the record? fuck that.

It is a great and entertaining movie, but there do seem to be a lot of falsehoods in it in order to make the plot more cinematic, by many accounts.

Watched Chasing Ghosts last night. It makes Walter Day seem even creepier than he does in Kong.

There's one point where he bags up his referee shirt and sends it to the Smithsonian for its "gaming collection", followed by a caption that the Smithsonian doesn't have a "gaming collection".
