I'm not sure I've heard all of this but 'Strawberry Wine' is one of my favourite MBV songs. In songwriting terms, it feels of a piece with the Isn't Anything era.

No, all that stuff is…that’s another story. Just the good stuff on Creation. Like all the Geek and “Strawberry Wine”…we kinda like it but it’s still not far enough away. When we did that stuff on Creation I liked it when I did it and I’ve always liked it since. The other stuff we kinda liked it when we did it and we really didn’t like it at all afterwards. And then a few years later, ten years later, you go, “That’s okay actually.” But not really, d’yer know? I don’t have an association with that music in the same way I do with the stuff on Creation, which I still feel very close to."

Love this comp so much. A 7" with Strawberry Wine, Safe in Your Sleep, and She Loves You No Less would be one of the best Sarah Records releases ever. And Can I Touch You has a great Spacemen 3 thing going on... but I have to vote for Strawberry Wine in the end.

i bought this album back in the day and listen to it quite a bit. i also bought that debut CD but sold it back, it was so bad. i did vote for "Strawberry Wine" just to put it out there.
