Why are some of these breaking and some not? Is it simply because the photos linked have disappeared / changed URLs?

I'm not terribly tech-y and just wondering if there's a different way I should post photos that might keep them here longer. Or if this is just the ephemerality of the internet, deal with it.

it just depends on where the linked images are hosted. for a long time, tinypic.com was a primary place to upload images and then easily share them on places like ilx. then tinypic was bought out by x which was bought out by y and then bought out by z, each of which made promises to not delete all the photos or change the links, etc, etc, then, whoops, all the photos were gone. that obliterated a lot of images on ilx and elsewhere.

i've been using imgur to host images for the last several years. surely imgur will last 1000 years! but probably not.

Or if this is just the ephemerality of the internet, deal with it.
