even if the league's response this weekend was straight out of the dysfunctional family playbook--we can rip each other to shreds, but come at us from the outside and watch the ranks close--it's better than i would have hoped or expected. bullying has its limits as a tactic.

as far as i have seen the only owner who has explicitly criticized the protests this weekend was jerry richardson, surely the worst human being to currently own a football team in what is a highly competitive field

worth remembering that complaints about the protests have ~0 to do with the anthem/flag which is why ppl were still incensed and why jerry kneeling was still great. that someone like him was manoeuvered into legitimizing the protests, or the right to protest, is a big development. yeah this weekend's actions became about responding to trump and the right to protest vs the protest itself but the usual tactics of marginalizing and threatening employment are gone now. and even so, a handful of high profile ppl did take the opportunity to say something about the actual substance of the protest.

yea this is 100% the most frustrating part of this, everyone on the right seems fine advancing the "they're protesting the flag of this great country!" narrative when they explicitly are not doing that

this is some embarrassing shit. they should cancel without refund and then bilk them for a full cost season subscription again when they quietly change their mind in 2 weeks

they really are the worst. I got Sunday Ticket for free (which I used, like...twice) because I moved and wanted to cancel. never mentioned to me that it auto-renews and there is no way in their online system to cancel it, or even see that it's going to auto-renew. instead you have to have a 30-minute phone conversation where you have to explain why you don't want it even if they knock $5 off the cost.

that's hilarious tbh, if they really want to voluntarily lose revenue over something they have no control over, then by all means
