Using stunts against this Bengals line is like fixing your roach problem with a cruise missile.

lol. i respect marv for letting their o line walk in free agency and just seeing what happened. gotta keep things interesting when you've been doing this so long.

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 15 September 2017 03:07 (six years ago) link

it's true, in the workplace sometimes you give yourself unneeded challenges to spice it up.

call all destroyer, Friday, 15 September 2017 03:09 (six years ago) link

Mike Brown owns the Bengals and he makes shite tones of money no matter what he does. He's pretty much one of the cheapest of the NFL owners and probably his dad spins in his grave over some of the football moves he has done over the decades.

Marvin Lewis might actually be a f-ing genius coach, he won quite a few games in Cincy. That hasn't happened for anyone for long with Mike Brown owning the team.

the two of you are monsters xp

i think marv is great and the best thing the bengals have done is stick with him. i am sure you're right about brown but their roster management has been pretty solid while they've been on this recent strong run, altho i feel like they are always overpaying some average dudes. this past offseason was a mystery tho. i'm not sure how they didn't get whitworth back, he ended up getting p reasonable money at the rams.

i was worried that game was going to be bad

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 15 September 2017 03:29 (six years ago) link

tbf to the bangals i'm not sure that anything in their roster management explains andy dalton's sudden inability to play even a passable level of quarterback.

the thing from tonight that will get underplayed is that houston rolled with an insanely conservative offensive gameplan, played an inept offensive team, and won by less than a touchdown. not all that repeatable!

AJ McCarron time is probably coming soon. McCarron's probably one of the most interesting backup QBs out there as he looked Ok filling in when Dalton got hurt in 2015. If it wasn't for that crazy ass penalty, he would have won a playoff game.

earlnash, Friday, 15 September 2017 04:43 (six years ago) link

cincy reportedly firing their OC. not sure that is going to rescue this season. not sure how that move impacts the fate of lewis if their season continues to be a train wreck. altho on that topic, and related to earlnash's post yesterday, pats beat guy tweeted this earlier:

The Bengals are the cheapest organization in the NFL. Their scouting dept is non-existent. Don't know what happens with a new staff.

bee shaffer, daughter of vogue editor anna wintour, is a massive cincinnati bengals fan.

this is amazing - but why?

is this because they have the ugliest uniforms in the league that are so ugly they're actually fashion?? what is the reason? of all teams!

what happened (daria-g), Friday, 15 September 2017 23:59 (six years ago) link

lol i was hoping it was some fascinating story apparently she just watched the most recent bengals hard knocks from a couple years ago and got hooked. she seems pretty upfront about the fact that her family and friends find it strange.

call all destroyer, Saturday, 16 September 2017 00:58 (six years ago) link

choosing your team by who is on hard knocks is a hell of a roulette spin. landing on the bengals is not bad considering. until this season at least.

gronk career milestone today i guess

Gronk entered the day with 69 career TDs. Just had his 69th TD catch. Next will be his 69th TD catch from Brady. #69

is brady going to have to throw passes to himself now, they have no receivers i'm pretty sure

the gronkest day of all

The trainers tended to Gronk's groin in the erect-a-tent. He is questionable to return.

Holy shit @ the under actually hitting in Saints Pats (it closed at 56.5). Can't imagine how many people were pulling their hair out after that false start/toss backwards/kneel/delay of game/punt garbage time sequence with 2 minutes to go

frogbs, Sunday, 17 September 2017 20:32 (six years ago) link

wanna thank god for bringing me that solid *washington football team* during the fake lightning 62 minute delay.

no other games are on here so no choice but to watch the washington football team play the rams with a 1/3 full stadium that seems to be mostly washington fans

is it worth finding a stream of broncos/cowboys?

broncos look good. wish i could get a look in at the seahawks niners game. seattle will prob still pull it out but must be another terrible showing on offense.

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 17 September 2017 23:05 (six years ago) link

rams ran a trick play fake punt, passed to the WR and it worked.. then went backwards about 20 yards. got the FG though

tie game

please please don't let this go to overtime

Didn't watch anything this week, but the pictures from the two LA games are hilarious.

earlnash, Monday, 18 September 2017 04:25 (six years ago) link

Yikes look at that score, the Cowboys got whooped by the Broncos.

earlnash, Monday, 18 September 2017 04:41 (six years ago) link

it's hard to judge by what degrees seeing them going against each other, but i am p sure that dallas is worse this season on both sides of the ball and denver is better on both. dallas will still be ok i expect. the question for denver is if they can consistently approach the same level, especially on offense. the first chiefs game in a few weeks should be a great game.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 18 September 2017 13:21 (six years ago) link

actually, denver was already pretty great on defense so many not necessarily better, but they really smothered the cowboys, it was impressive

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 18 September 2017 13:25 (six years ago) link

btw romo was as good as advertised if kinda goofy. super insightful, actually had too much to say at times. once he chills a bit and learns his tempo better he is going to be superb for the couple years until he gets jaded and lazy like collinsworth.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 18 September 2017 15:02 (six years ago) link

yea agree hes good

http://deadspin.com/los-angeles-doesnt-care-about-the-chargers-1818503650

I still find it unbelievable that anyone in the Chargers organization thought moving to L.A. was a good idea. Go to a city which barely cares about the Rams and certainly doesn't want your team, leave the city where you're supported (WERE supported), and of course this is going to happen. The only NFL team anyone wanted to see come to L.A. would have been the Raiders.

nomar, Monday, 18 September 2017 16:43 (six years ago) link

feel like that team is just an investment vehicle they're trying to figure out how to maximize and raiders beat them to vegas and shit. parked in la because it's the cheapest short term bridge to wherever or new buyer.

I guess Eli pouting and getting the trade to the Giants worked out in the long run considering that Rivers is pretty much living out his existence if he would have went to the Chargers. Brees did ok being let go out of San Diego too.

I find it hard to believe that anyone would NOT want to have a pro team in San Diego. That town has been fxxed with pretty much every sports team owner it's ever had.
