this way we can keep the daou talk in here and you won't have to hear about him anymore!

I'm just like, I did this research experiment on the dude last week, sad irrelevant man's life is still sad and irrelevant. To me.

I was expecting your "usual" more-money-than-sense older version of the fyre festival twerp but then I read up on him and listened to some of the tunes and it was more than just lame, it got very weird and mildly depressing (as above)

possibly the saddest moment of this sad man's sad life came in 1990 when he was interviewed by none other than me, for a piece in wire magazine on the (then-still newsworthy) interraction between house and dance music fashioned from samples, and jazz and other experiments

he only gets a short paragraph and one quote* in the piece, which is mainly pointing to the some of the nu-groove titles he'd engineered or played piano on: one by VANDAL (which was vanessa daou, his then-wife) plus (from memory) bobby konders' "the poet" and maybe one or two others

i suspect he took a very bad conceptual direction with the erica jong project (tho i haven't played it to prove this to myself) but these 1990s cuts are good not bad IMO, in a minor footnote-y way

*but i'm fairly sure i have a whole tape of interview with him in a box somewhere

I really ysed to love that Vanessa Daou "Zipless" album. Played it so many times in 1995-96 or whenever it was
