Yeah, hence the Juicy J appearance I guess. That's three minutes of Swae Lee before anyone else is called to the table, though.

i wouldn't exactly say it's a side 2 side remake. i really like it tho juicy's verse is def superfluous

How do you guys feel about the two solo tracks though? I must admit that I prefer the two (three, if we’re counting Pegasus) group tracks so far.

swae's track is nice but it doesn't strike me as a hit... not sure i ever needed a slim jim solo track tho

Jimmi is very much becoming the Big Boi to Swae's Andre 3000, the solid and maybe even underrated rapper eclipsed by his more interesting, creatively daring counterpart. His third of the record is obviously the one everybody's least excited about but I could see it being a sleeper.

We're so lucky to have these guys.

to me swae uses one bit of the melody from the side 2 side chorus to go to a completely different place... it feels more like genuine/inspiration artistry to me than pure "remake" especially when compared to that asap ferg song and whatever else

for some reason people put on their label a&r hats and decided swae lee had unique solo potential that slim jxmmi would never have even when they only had one song out. at least he had the best verse on "black beatles" i guess.

He also did a Gucci track on Mr. Davis w/o Swae Lee and absolutely crushed it

sorry if swae lee's unique star quality wasn't so clear to me when only "no flex zone" was out, anyone flippantly commenting care to elaborate on what jumped out at you at that time?

Idk why it’s so controversial itt that swae is a more natural breakout star: he’s better looking (seems weird to say that but it’s true and matters); he does the sing-rap post drake thing (sorry for crudeness of that description) and he seems more chilll and confident, whereas jim is more drugged out /manic and channels the bratty element of their sound more. This isn’t to say swae is better per se just better adapted to the current rap ecosystem. I love Jxmmi on their second lp especially, he sounds super hungry

he also sings the hook on every one of their hits and wrote one of the biggest songs of last year

co-wrote Formation too. He's been the chosen one since the beginning

do ppl not like "hurt to look"? like i would agree with the assessment above that it will probably not be a hit but i really like it much more than the other recent releases

to be fair I'll give it another chance, just not my thing maybe

i wanted to like "hurt to look" but it only has one melodic idea. i can vibe w/ it because it's very vibey but i rate it well below "sativa" as far as swae R&B goes

Swae's "Guatemala" is a pretty forgettable "Unforgettable" rip. But still loving the flood of new material from these guys. Triple-album rollouts are fun
