I like the weird cosmic occult horror direction they took with Brule. 2 Wet Crew gets a special shout out, too, their web shorts are like a microdose of LSD. This whole scene is my favorite thing in comedy for the past 10 years.

have been immersing ourselves in the world of tim and gregg recently. a world that reached apoetheosis in gregg's 'hey guys!' at the trial

#TeamHailing (imago), Thursday, 11 January 2018 19:16 (six years ago) link

*apotheosis

#TeamHailing (imago), Thursday, 11 January 2018 19:16 (six years ago) link

have also been mooting a tim & eric vs tim & gregg poll, with my own preference the latter

#TeamHailing (imago), Thursday, 11 January 2018 19:18 (six years ago) link

idk about this, Eric is great but I do prefer "one over-the-top weird guy and one introverted weird guy" to "two over-the-top weird guys"

frogbs, Thursday, 11 January 2018 19:46 (six years ago) link

gregg's the straight man!!

#TeamHailing (imago), Thursday, 11 January 2018 19:47 (six years ago) link

oh wait you're agreeing with me, but have temporarily forgotten what 'latter' means :P

#TeamHailing (imago), Thursday, 11 January 2018 19:47 (six years ago) link

or you're just saying 'idk about this' as a general response to the question. keep diggin' lj ;)

#TeamHailing (imago), Thursday, 11 January 2018 19:53 (six years ago) link

I'm saying I don't know which one I prefer but I like the format of Tim & Gregg better - T & E stuff often goes off the rails too quickly because every character is always insane

frogbs, Thursday, 11 January 2018 20:18 (six years ago) link

it's also becoming clear to me that gregg is just one of the funniest people alive

#TeamHailing (imago), Thursday, 11 January 2018 20:24 (six years ago) link

I saw him do standup as Neil Hamburger a couple years back, it was legitimately the funniest show I've ever been to

just rediscovered that "Great Phone Calls" album from way way back and it still cracks me up. the bit where he's telling his "world famous" 7-11 joke that just goes on and on and on is so great

frogbs, Thursday, 11 January 2018 20:31 (six years ago) link

saw the last heidecker-hamburger tour and neil's bit about gene simmons got things to the point of feeling that sort of wild chest-hurting panic that we might pass out or die from laughing, it was amazing

ogmor, Thursday, 11 January 2018 21:17 (six years ago) link

i love neil hamburger doing his red hot chili peppers run of jokes

khat person (jim in vancouver), Thursday, 11 January 2018 21:23 (six years ago) link

not as good as gregg turkington's portrayal of kington, master of codes obv

frogbs, Friday, 12 January 2018 05:23 (six years ago) link

that said this will always crack me up

every single one of Turkington's lines here is great and as a programmer I inadvertently quote this all the time
