Surprised no one has mentioned how funny the "Mothers Day" digital shot was.
― Alex in SF, Monday, 11 May 2009 15:22 (fourteen years ago) link
That's probably because it wasn't very funny.
― lindseykai, Monday, 11 May 2009 15:32 (fourteen years ago) link
Okay then I am surprised no one mentioned how unfunny they thought it was.

the mothers day shit was super dumb - also itd be much funnier of they dressed not like color me badd but like current day justin timberlake - that porkpie vesty members only look is just as ridiculous
― ice cr?m, Monday, 11 May 2009 15:40 (fourteen years ago) link
you are asking why a comedy show might present a musical-theater professional as somewhat stereotypically gay!
― nabisco, Monday, 11 May 2009 16:00 (fourteen years ago) link
can we retroactively add Justin to the SNL worst cast member poll?
― ^ THIS IS WHY (I DIED), Monday, 11 May 2009 16:05 (fourteen years ago) link
I dunno, I always found him surprisingly entertaining in his guest spots. Maybe I just can't take him seriously enough to dislike him.

jordan u are such a hater! jt was fine this week the mother lover thing was about as funny as you can expect the sequel to a joke song can be, susan sarandon is hot, etc

oh, I do have to admit I found this odd -- like in the first one they both dressed and sounded pretty 1992, but then in this one they're still dressed all '92 but the sound is all modern, etc.
(this does not really affect my perception of whether it's funny, or anything)
― nabisco, Monday, 11 May 2009 16:49 (fourteen years ago) link
^^ yeah, it’s like they saw The Greatest Love In History for the first time when someone emailed them a Youtube link after Dick In A Box came out, and went “oops”

this was so lazy and most repelling skits ive seen in a while - as i said, just replace with video of timberlake masturbating onto his grammys
― man, i love collages (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 12 May 2009 03:02 (fourteen years ago) link
maybe it got better at the end cuz i changed the channel once it became apparent that the whole thing was a "WINK WINK NOD NOD FAMOUS PERSON" gag

Will Ferrell episode is A+++ so far.
Jeopardy sketch reminded me that Tom Hanks once used to be a comedian, which is easy to forget (honestly, I haven't thought of him that way in a long, long time). Also, bonus Norm-as-Burt appearance!

Tom Hanks once used to be a comedian
i remember thinking he was really funny when i was a kid (i can vaguely remember bosom buddies). i dug his steez in that penny marshall women's baseball movie, and to a lesser extent in that thing you do.

AMY POEHLER LOVE YOU GIRL
(yeah, Tom Hanks has a long history of being funny, and funny on SNL... can't remember the last time he played comedy in a movie, though)

The "best of Tom Hanks" SNL episode they aired many years back surprised me in how awesome/funny it was.

― Johnny Fever, Sunday, 17 May 2009 04:59 (fourteen years ago) link
Looks like it. I think Anne Hathaway was thanked at the end too, but I don't remember seeing her.
Pretty awesome season finale. Would have loved to see Norm at the update desk though since he was around.

Elizabeth Moss from Mad Men.
I was thinking it's either Hammond's last...or his birthday.

She was one of the many in the Billy Joel song sketch immediately before the close.
