Yeah the latter. It was great! Also why does everyone hate the last track, it rules

They were excellent live in this era, and the slightly deeper cuts from the record sounded mighty fine too - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6PefcA58Ho

one of my favorites. it was the second, or maybe first, full Cure album I ever heard; concurrent with Distintegration. It was rather hard to find in the US for a long time, not sure why; some licensing issue. Still seems like it's the odd-album out in the run up through Wish, but I like it even more because of that. It's always struck me as their most psychedelic album.

five years pass...

I love this album. The drumming is on par with Boris Williams' an album later.

Andy Anderson was massively underrated by everyone

He hold this thing together; it's why I can't call it "a mess."

xp not by me, Concert is the only worthwhile Cure live record. “One Hundred Years” is like bathing in pure fire.

Also helps there are a ton of excellent bootlegs from his stint in the band. Nearly any recording of an 1984 show kills, even a rough audience tape.

Listening to one now for the hell of it and it's a delight to sense how he transformed things like the "Play for Today" drum part just enough. It's subtle but he does put his own stamp on it.

For some funky Cosmic Nu Wave greatness with Andy Anderson holding it down Seek out Steve Hillage’s OPEN.
