beady eye albums to become lost classics in 10 years time.

i'll think you'll find that liam's stagecraft involved a lot of bobbing, swaying, and leaning while standing with his hands behind his back

Always bemused by the amount of tears over oasis on ilm. Something something the fact of their popularity was also something something ilm ppl hate them. To act as if the popularity then becomes a reason to react against them is absurd.

The reaction to a q list, a fucking q list mind, upthread is ridiculous. A fucking q list!

brimstead, Wednesday, 16 August 2017 01:15 (six years ago) link

i am grateful for the american ilxors who can appreciate the gallaghers as musicians and clowns, sorta like finding people who also appreciate pauly shore or keanu reeves

brimstead, Wednesday, 16 August 2017 01:20 (six years ago) link

that analogy does not make sense

brimstead, Wednesday, 16 August 2017 01:21 (six years ago) link

No-one outside the US knows who Pauly Shore is so... it does make sense?

Wewlay Bewlay (Tom D.), Wednesday, 16 August 2017 08:32 (six years ago) link

If you think defining cinematic masterpieces such as 'In The Army Now' and 'Encino Man' haven't travelled across the Atlantic, you are sorely mistaken.

Maybe it's just me then, I had to google the guy, I know the name but I had no idea what he looked like.

Heard some shitty old plodding c-list Britpop song on the radio - slightly baffled how I hadn't heard it at the time, but it was really sub-Oasis pish, frontman desperately trying to sound like Liam in his heyday but somehow even more whiney, lyrics excruciating, actually made me slightly pine for the awful cheese of Be Here Now.

Anyway I don't need to tell you what it was.

lovely stuff.

A couple of years ago, you tweeted that you wouldn't do a solo record because you're "not a cunt."
I know, I know, I know. I was lying when I said (that).

kinder, Monday, 25 September 2017 23:04 (six years ago) link

Eheh nice intw. Somehow his and NG's intw are always nice/fun. Each one, in his own way seems more sensible and funny than you'd expect.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 12 October 2017 13:49 (six years ago) link

Noel and Liam should reunite but not for Oasis : for a talkshow or something like that.

AlXTC from Paris, Thursday, 12 October 2017 13:56 (six years ago) link

eheh in ep2 : "tea cups at Disneyland. in the rain".
he's not very harsh in his comments though. he's gone mild, man.

Liam utterly crucifying 'Rock'n'Roll Star' on the BBC Red Button right now... he sounds fine on his latest LP vocally, but live it's clear he can't sing this anymore.

Gholdfish Killah (Turrican), Thursday, 2 November 2017 20:08 (six years ago) link

He was always variable..

Mark G, Thursday, 2 November 2017 20:11 (six years ago) link

He's been putting the title track from 'Be Here Now' into his set. 'Rockin' Chair' too, so he's clearly willing to play songs that Noel won't go anywhere these days.
