that was like an entire book's worth of incidents in a single episode

i was gonna say, for the first time ever this show needs to slow down

not complaining, but this is the most i've looked forward to grr martin finishing those damned books, because i feel like the however many hundreds of pages we just saw will play out better in greater detail and slower mo on the page

i enjoyed that episode quite a bit, but yeah, i would have liked some of those scenes to be twice as long and spread out over a couple episodes.

tbh i could do without another 'escape from beyond the wall' episode

so the show wants us to think that littlefinger has outsmarted arya but smart money is arya still being two steps ahead

On tonight's episode of game of thrones, a ragtag bunch of ex-hotshots defy 7 seasons worth of attrition and storyline slog to meet up serendipitously in the course of 15 real life minutes and an estimated 1 hr of westerosi time

but you gotta admit the crew heading north of the wall is pretty sweet

Everything bad about the last two seasons feels so irrelevant right about now

"kidnap a wight who infects everything it kills" seems like a bad plan to me tbh

i can't remember if it was supposed to be obvious or not but a friend of mine mentioned this theory about 2 years ago and completely ruined that aspect of the show for me

good episode. never minded jon snow or danys, thought they were better than usual here.

i figured he left the gold so that those that found them would find gold in dead soldier's pockets and assume death by corrupt misadventure (which it kind of was i guess)

robbery, corrupt guards, corpses with fermented crab on the lips and tongue = expensive but effective cover

as i mentioned last night, i'm really excited for this crew heading north of the wall, but frightened for them in a way that i haven't been since the first few seasons. it seems like there's no way they're all coming back alive. if i had to guess, jorah is going down, and maybe beric or thoros too.

I'm feeling like you're right but perhaps either Jorah or the Hound will become the very wight they need to show Cersei...

And everyone is flipping out about the possibility of undead hound vs. frankenmountain in that scenario but it feels like there would be more story impact to have the hound character actually able to react to the sight of the mountain as a monster. Two characters that have a significant tension and history finally meeting in battle is only cheap thrills if they're BOTH undead zombies...

True. Too often people expect "random" deaths of important characters without realizing that every shocking death so far has been to advance the story in an interesting way. Agree that Jorah (and Gendry) wouldn't make much sense dying after the story went out of its way to bring them back into the picture so recently.
