Everyone's outside, and it's because of POKÉMON GO

What level is everyone on? I'm 31, with 205 pokes in my dex (seen 228). Still missing some pretty obvious ones from the first batch - currently walking an Abra toward 100 candies so my Kadabra can be evolved at last.

And my top three are a Rhydon (2877), a Blissey (2769) and a Tyranitar (2482). Which I'm pretty sure you could all beat.

36/237. Bought a kangaskhan from a dodgy website, to my shame. Have 5 pokes with more than 3000 cp. highest is 3353 dragonite.

So I've been using Discord and planning raids with people and there are 400-500 users in Exeter, and it's like a weird community, and now I've met people who I've only ever seen in gyms before, and it's very strange. Added an extra dimension or several to the game. I've learnt a lot about mechanics and stuff which I didn't know before. Also it seems I'm slightly mythical; one person was impressed to meet me at a raid because I'm 'everywhere'.

I've been working all summer in a small town in NW Ohio, and got out for a few Pokewalks where I met up with large raiding groups. The difference in the demographic between Seattle/Redmond and here is interesting - lots of biker types in OH vs coder types in WA. Skews older in OH - lots more 10 year olds in WA vs heavily post-high school in OH. And finally after 1 year+ of playing I evolved a gyrados.

The demographic here is very diverse: I've been at raids with teenage boys, entire families, pensioners, international students, PhD researchers, the regional manager of the local cancer research shops, Sainsburys delivery drivers, an older guy on a nice road bike. It's quite a spread. I see some of the same faces really frequently and others just once.

Was there an update that recently rekindled interested in this game? When biking to the gym or walking the dog, I've been seeing large groups with a range of ages all silently standing in a circle, staring at their phones (and blocking the bike path/sidewalk).

There was a gym re-work to get rid of Blissey towers and added a raid component (why you see all the people) where a group of people can fight a giant version of high value Pokémon and then try and catch it individually using special balls distributed based on damage dealt, gym control & etc

Raids are p fun tbh but I would rather have a break from the legendaries to score a few TTar, but getting 10K points per legendary raid has me awful close to level 37

Oh, nanaberry. Is it helpful? I pretty much only use it for feeding pokes at gyms cos I thought it was useless. They nerfed the effectiveness of golden razzes? The fuckers! No wonder I can't catch legendaries anymore.

Golden razz Drop rate is what I was talking about. Nanaberry just stops the thing from moving and you can't win if you don't hit so I just use those + curveball

Still playing! It helps that they've been adding new little mechanics over time to hold my interest, and it certainly doesn't hurt that I live in a megacity with pokéstops every other street. There are several well-organized raiding groups here in Seoul, too, but I'm a bit too casual a player for that.

Yeah, the recent additions and raids have definitely made it better. There's a nice little community where I am so I've managed to get all the legendary pokes so far. Only a couple of hundred thousand XP away from level 38 now, but I've stopped pidgey-stacking and lucky-egg-evolving cos it was boring as hell last time I did 100+ pidgeys and 50+ other pokes in two sittings.

for stuff like pidgey n weedle etc I just evolve on sight/as able. I figure there's more where that came from and I'm in the 38+ level so it's going to be a grind to 40 anyway. The new raids are pretty fun/populated in NYC (obviously) but I am very much playing to get perfect versions of these little fuckers

Haha, it was slightly nuts. About 8 of us locally got invites to an EX raid on Xmas day at 1:30, so of course everyone said “niantec you bastards”. But about four could go, and arranged to take multiple phones, and we exchanged account details, and now I have an 87% Mewtwo.

Hit 36 about two weeks ago. I've got two friends in a race to 40, and another who's just hitting 28, so I feel pretty comfy where I am. Shiny Wailmer beckons for me.

Scored a shiny karp AND aron in San Francisco last week

got back into this in taiwan because it felt wrong not to. still only in the 20s but getting loads more out of this with the new gens &c. no gym battles yet.

I scored a shiny Wailmer on my way home yesterday, and it's all the more charming because of how horrible it is (7% IVs or something like that).
