Alternatives to Soundcloud

You are not bound by the 'album' format; there is more flexibility when it comes to creating and sharing playlists; your homepage continually refreshes with the newest work of the artists you are following, which you can stream freely. Also, for whatever reason, I get far more plays from Soundcloud than I do from Bandcamp.

Plus, the way it loads and streams related tracks when you listen to something is different from Bandcamp, and is a good way to explore new things. Putting tracks out into a 'cloud' vs releasing 'albums', basically.

ya bandcamp is more rawk/album oriented and soundcloud is more beats/singles or mixes oriented

its absence will be felt by me, who rips a lot of music off there

What is the difference between Soundcloud and Bandcamp vs. Reverb Nation?

Reverb Nation is only used by terrible local bands iirc, and also has an icky '7 marketing tips to get gigs!' music biz angle.

out of curiosity what would y'all like to see in a soundcloud alternative that would also be likely to last longer than soundcloud?

xp - both soundcloud and bandcamp also have "useful tips" biz angle stuff they send you ... but I always thought of Reverb Nation as one of those EPK sites, as opposed to just digital music
