Dearie me.

Punnet of the Grapes (Tom D.), Tuesday, 13 June 2017 20:42 (six years ago) link

Both of England's goalies are motm is the thing, the centre halves are absolutely stinking

May o God help us (darraghmac), Tuesday, 13 June 2017 20:43 (six years ago) link

Was that Cahill literally decided to start praying rather than defend there

May o God help us (darraghmac), Tuesday, 13 June 2017 20:44 (six years ago) link

The lack of creativity in englands creative players is nothing new but I mean sterling genuinely could not beat a tailors dummy

May o God help us (darraghmac), Tuesday, 13 June 2017 20:49 (six years ago) link

This is great

What's worse

Stupidity of players in England shirts
Technique of players in England shirts

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Monday, 4 September 2017 19:10 (six years ago) link

Cos I saw Ireland torn apart by Georgia last week and get slaughtered but at least we were just playing agricultural shit badly and rightly punished by a bad team doing simple things well

These lads here couldn't beat a no-show

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Monday, 4 September 2017 19:12 (six years ago) link

Should be down to ten but tbf it was walker so

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Monday, 4 September 2017 19:32 (six years ago) link

Credit to the lad

lefal junglist platton (wtev), Monday, 4 September 2017 20:04 (six years ago) link

Players of standard- rashford striking, Kane in general, AOC while carrying, Alli while running off the ball, Dier in fits. Clyne is better than adequate cover.

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Monday, 4 September 2017 20:06 (six years ago) link

In particular, AOCs decision making and idk ?attention? when delivering pass, cross or shot stinks of a lad convinced throughout a full career that the end result of his efforts were either not important or not his problem or something it is alarming that this has been considered not a bigger issue

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Monday, 4 September 2017 20:08 (six years ago) link

Jesus Christ, the one time I want you cunts to win...

i didn't watch this shit but lol the review: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41152560

nice to see some realish talk for a change

a big sausage-handed small-eared guy (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 5 September 2017 06:00 (six years ago) link

Clyne is better than adequate cover.

You just forfeited the right to castigate a fullback ever again.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 5 September 2017 08:32 (six years ago) link

I dunno what I'm missing with him tbh, he does an ok job but doesn't do anything as such

Tbh the rating of players that carry the ball well to no effect whatsoever is puzzling me, because it's an attribute seemingly hugely values for some reason

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Tuesday, 5 September 2017 08:35 (six years ago) link

Clyne was complete bullshit most of the times I saw him for the second half of last season, maybe he'll improve but any continued first team place is going to be largely down to a paucity of reliable options at RB for Liverpool. I dunno I like the look of Joe Gomez but I think he sees himself as a CB in the longer term.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 5 September 2017 08:51 (six years ago) link

Oh shit

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Tuesday, 5 September 2017 11:34 (six years ago) link

Bertrand. I meant Bertrand.

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Tuesday, 5 September 2017 11:34 (six years ago) link

Alright Bobby Robson. Bertrand is fine.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 5 September 2017 11:44 (six years ago) link

imago, Tuesday, 5 September 2017 11:47 (six years ago) link

NI have been a better value watch this int'l weekend, and not just because they've had a Charlton player in the side

imago, Tuesday, 5 September 2017 11:47 (six years ago) link

As an aside and because there's no more general World Cup qualifier threads, Syria are currently beating Iran 1-0 and on the verge of qualifying for the World Cup. That's actually pretty cool.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 5 September 2017 15:45 (six years ago) link

Oh shit, Iran scored almost immediately after I posted that.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 5 September 2017 15:46 (six years ago) link

That's the worst thing that could've happened to Syria

a big sausage-handed small-eared guy (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 5 September 2017 15:49 (six years ago) link

They'll be dancing in what remains of the streets

passé aggresif (darraghmac), Tuesday, 5 September 2017 15:58 (six years ago) link

They didn't end up qualifying just yet, but they're into the playoffs thanks to a 94th minute equaliser.

one month passes...

Very confusing watching these young kids with their ball skills and exuberance. Hopefully that shiz will get knocked out of them before they make the Prem.

God why the fuck is Danny Mills paid to talk about owt?

pulled pork state of mind (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 28 October 2017 15:20 (six years ago) link

It was the Graun that started him off as a pundit, during the '02 World Cup. And 15 years later people are still paying him, wtf!!!

pulled pork state of mind (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 28 October 2017 16:12 (six years ago) link

Peter Shilton
Stuart Pearce
Des Walker
Terry Butcher
Paul Parker
Mark Wright
Chris Waddle
Paul Gascoigne
Peter Beardsley
Gary Lineker
David Platt

1990 SF. is this even a good team? do any current players get in this team?

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 1 December 2017 14:52 (six years ago) link

obv quite a few genuinely good players there, Gazza, Lineker, Beardsley, Waddle on his day all probably better than what we've got now, obviously Shilton better than any England keeper since. they played like shit and were hella lucky to make the semis.

Illegal Ethiopian Dance Music (Noodle Vague), Friday, 1 December 2017 14:59 (six years ago) link

I would probably put Stones in ahead of Wright, and Walker, K. in ahead of Parker.

By 1990, Shilts was not what he had been, and was looking forward to seeing his Argyle team spanked twice in the league by Exeter within a year or two.

Tim, Friday, 1 December 2017 15:01 (six years ago) link

5 defenders, 2 midfielders, 1 winger, 2 forwards is something

my first reaction was that everyone midfield and beyond is clearly better than current equivalents but figure i am now one of those old ppl who automatically thinks players from olden times were always better

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 1 December 2017 15:10 (six years ago) link

Platt always mediocre and over-rated imo

Illegal Ethiopian Dance Music (Noodle Vague), Friday, 1 December 2017 15:11 (six years ago) link

haha xp I was thinking the same thing, particularly in reference to David Platt. How good a player was Platt, D.? I couldn't really tell you.

Tim, Friday, 1 December 2017 15:12 (six years ago) link

was lineker really better than kane

ogmor, Friday, 1 December 2017 15:14 (six years ago) link

Lineker was just ridiculously good at scoring goals - I don't doubt HK does more work and gets more of what you young people call "assists" and whatnot.

Tim, Friday, 1 December 2017 15:18 (six years ago) link

Top scorer in Div 1 for three seasons running, IIRC, including two of those seasons for a very mediocre Leicester side. Jonesy will be along in a minute to outline his scoring ratio for Everton which I can't be bothered to google.

Tim, Friday, 1 December 2017 15:20 (six years ago) link

I think Kane is quite similar to Lineker and will end up having a similar looking career but at the moment I'd take Lineker in his pomp over Harry

Illegal Ethiopian Dance Music (Noodle Vague), Friday, 1 December 2017 15:21 (six years ago) link

No English trophies until he's in his thirties?
