I'm pretty sure "Time"'s the favorite. Although I think "Church of the Poison Mind" is also a fantastic song and I wish it had placed somewhere in the top 250.

(I just created and deleted a fake entry for "Shattered Dreams" by Johnny Hates Jazz because I think everyone gets my position by this point)

becoming aware of imagination for the first time is my main discovery from this poll and i'm really glad about it

There isn't a single Culture Club song I would consider to be R&B.

As I mentioned in the voting thread, I only just realized while preparing for this poll that 'Church of the Poison Mind' sounds an awful lot like something the Miracles could've recorded.

Imagination are maybe my favourite band of the 80s, still hoping for one more in particular but not confident

Positive that #1 was mine. Glad I could do what I could do to push it as high as it got, being a non-single and all.

Will go to my grave believing this to be Prince's finest moment.

I remember coming to the Purple Rain soundtrack as someone who had played Controversy and 1999 on repeat, getting to "The Beautiful Ones" and going "OH WAIT HOLD UP WHAT" and then replaying the song 5 times in a row (this was on an LP)

It's interesting that there were so many Prince songs nominated yet somehow When You Were Mine missed out. It won the Prince poll a few years ago. If I'd more time to get involved in the nominations process, I would have mentioned it.
