the funniest part of course is that he did the cartoon, put the poster of trump with 'open season', put the witches and gave them shotguns, and then thought about his audience for a second, and wrote TRUMP HUNT in big letters, just in case

political cartoons are maybe the single worst medium with regard to "show don't tell." the overwhelming majority, whatever their politics, would be massively improved by an editor nixing some number of written labels. also a high ratio of speech balloons contorting into overworded messes to explain the background and then convey the joke, which to other humorists is usually a sign that the joke isn't going to work.

I gotta say as loony as Ben Garrison is his attention to detail is pretty impressive...this whole thread could be about him alone. He's the real-world version of the Onion parody cartoonist

What's he going to do when the Trump project inevitably disintegrates? Is there a point where he would be disillusioned? What then?

Trump had the conspiracy theorist types in his pocket from the get-go; had assumed that if he were ever to win he'd lose them instantly, like they'd have to think "welp, he's a lizard person/bilderberg stooge/whatever now". But the combative nature of his presidency, the fact that it always looks just about to fall apart, has made it so you can now maintain wake up sheeple cred while repping for the most powerful man in the United States.
